Took my spouse and two small children (4 and 2) to the Railroaders Memorial Museum and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibits and the amount of things to do for young children.
The exhibits inside the museum are fantastic and highly interactive! The level of detail is really good and it was so interesting to learn about the railroads, the people who worked on them, and the communities that grew up around them. And, while the museum was very kid-friendly and my little ones enjoyed themselves, I sometimes wished that I had some kid-free time to really take everything in.
There is a nice gift shop with lots of train-related items and a HUGE Thomas train table (the biggest one I've ever seen) which was a big hit with the kids. (Tip: if the gift shop train table is really busy on your visit, there is another, slightly smaller one, downstairs on the way to the restrooms.)
