“Blood Under Comforter In Both Rooms.Smh”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

So I book this hotel becouse I am a long time Customer Of The Staybridge Suite Hotel Chain. When I walked in It smelled like a Old dirty hotel. The Chair that you would sit on at the front desk was suspect. I booked two rooms so I walked into the first one, Smell hit me at the door, the carpet was dirty, the tub had particles in it, the fidg was not fully cleen. Leave that room inter into the other room. Funky smell again, The light in the bathroom hall didnt work, back of the remote missing, take out the extra sheets they give you for the bed couch, the blanket had some chunky resedue on it, it looked like dry throw up. I went to check the bed, lift up the pillowtop conmforter and there was a big fresh blood stain on it. went to the front desk told the girl i want to get a new room, get to the new room checked the bed, under the pillowtop there was a big old blood stain on it. So I requested my money back and left the hotel

This past weekend we celebrated a family birthday and met extended family members in Allentown (a halfway point). We ended up here since most other hotels were booked. What a pleasant happenstance. The staff was incredibly helpful and even participated in a "birthday rouse" to make sure the birthday girl was indeed surprised. The rooms were clean, well organized, and we were next to each other and at the end of a hall so as not to disturb other guests with our charming, yet not so quiet, three little ones. The pool was a nice spot to play and relax but not have to worry about sunscreen since it was indoors.

The breakfast was by far the biggest surprise. It went far beyond my expectations with hard boiled eggs, activia yogurt, cooked oatmeal, waffles, sausage, and fresh fruit. I would definitely stay here again.

But I would not eat at Boston's Pizza next door...that was a dud.

Booked this property for an overnight on a girls only road trip. When booked the website said 2 queen beds but upon printing receipt it said 2 doubles and room had two doubles (small ones at that). room was clean but bathroom is very very small and the wallpaper was damp and peeling next to the shower. Breakfast was not as extensive as I am use to with this companies properties but it was enough to get us going the next morning. The employee at the breakfast was very friendly. Hallways smelled very badly of cigarette smoke but our room was blissfully free of it.

Room Tip: One set of elevators so if you don't want to walk endless turning hallways ask for a room closer...

We recently relocated to Allentown PA from Seattle WA. Corporate housing for my husband's company put us up in Staybridge Suites - Allentown West. We were there for 7 weeks and the people, service, convenience, cleanliness - absolutely everything was terrific. We were there during "tax time" and I had a million documents to be copied, faxed or mailed. We were also in the process of buying a home so there was scads of paperwork involved with that as well. Becca at the front desk was awesome! She never complained or acted like I was a bother even though I faxed or copied papers multiple times for several days. She always had a smile on her face and was able to give me helpful hints on places to go for different purchases. John and Patsy working the morning breakfast were always cheerful and interested in how the house hunting process was going. All of the cleaning ladies were happy cheerful and never minded if I asked for or needed something "else". I would certainly recommend this facility again and just can't say enough about how friendly everyone was and how they made us feel welcome to a new city and state. They truly were the first "friends" we made in PA.

We stayed for two nights. There were some cosmetic problems within the room that could be repaired without much effort. On the last day we had no internet connection. As we were leaving I noticed a teenager eating breakfast in the dining area with no shirt on? Also you get no room service on weekends unless you request it?
The buffet breakfast in the morning was very good.

Room Tip: I could hear people in other rooms from our room? This is an economy class hotel. If you are on a ti...

I was only here for one night, but would come back here. It is conveniently located. The full kitchen can save you tons of money on vacation or on business. Three nights a week there is some kind of reception with things like hot dogs and burgers and beer and soda. The reception area is like a big living room so you can come down there and eat and don't have to be stuck in your room the whole time. The hotel is also pet friendly which is great for those of us who don't want to leave our furry friends at home when we travel. If you are looking for a comfortable, friendly place for a good price then this is your place. If you are afraid of dogs, beer and other people eating in public, then you should probably stay home.

Room Tip: I liked being on the third floor because it was a nice night and I could sleep with the windows open...

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. Like you said, our "Social" that we have 3 nights a week, on Tue, Wed & Thu, is a great way to meet new people and enjoy a drink and some food. We look forward to you staying with us again and hopefully it can be more than 1 night and you can utilize the kitchenette in the room.

This is definitely a business hotel. The hotel is right off the highway so that is very convenient. The parking lot had a lot of spaces (even though it shared it's lot with another hotel).

Now the bad part. Bags of beer in the halls. People were cooking in their rooms and bringing the food into the lobby dinning area to eat it family style. It was weird seeing people with cookie sheets of hamburgers and pots full of corn eating dinner.

The elevator is in the middle of the hotel it seemed. One side of the hotel is smoking and the other side is non-smoking. The smoke from the smoking side travels VERY far. About 1/2 the non-smoking side REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY smelled of smoke. As a business hotel my guess is business people just sit in their rooms for hours on end smoking since there's nothing else for them to do. If you stay here you better ask for a room lower than 310, 210, etc. It really sucked having to walk through all the smoke to get to your room (the halls were literally hazy from the smoke). Since my room was a lower numbered room it was on the edge of the hotel and was a bit of a walk. I had to make four trips to my car and it really sucked walking and then walking through smoke.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. It was three rooms in a row and all three rooms were narrow (the shape kind of drove you batty). The furniture was the old oak veneer furniture you see at cheap hotels and didn't really match. The couches were that material that will never ever wear out so you didn't want to sit on it.

Pets are allowed here. It was weird seeing black lab's walking all over the place.

If you are used to staying at a Marriott you'll be sad. If you are used to staying at red roof inn you'll be happy.

Room Tip: Better scope the hotel before you check in to find a room that is outside of the smoke zone. Then ch...
