As experienced diners, our overall impression of the quality and presentation of the food was good to very good. However, not exceptional in my opinion. I say this only because they bill themselves as a top echelon restaurant. Although in all fairness, the value is good and the prices, all things considered, was not unreasonable.
Decor and mood is very modern, pleasant and chic. The wait service was overbearing. We were approached by the maitre'd, hostess and server each in 5-10 minute intervals asking how everything was. Too much. Let the diner enjoy the meal.
The Shrimp Cocktail was an interesting combination of chopped shrimp in a cocktail type sauce. My companion's Swordfish was tender and juicy, but just a bit over seasoned. The Tuna Tartar should be on your must try list. We had everything from Muse (small tasting's), Appetizer, Salad, Entree to Desert with coffee... and espresso for me.
Try this restaurant on a weeknight. We dined on a Tuesday, but we were told Thursday's offer a piano jazz bar. They are located at 22 North 6th Street in Allentown's downtown across from Allentown Symphony Hall. Their website address is: http://ourcosmopolitan.com/
For now, valet parking is free. Most know this neighborhood and I applaud the efforts of the ownership and management wishing them every succuss.
