“I was underwhelmed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Price was okay, but I would not stay here again. Common areas were poorly maintained, it was raining and there was a stream of water running across the sidewalk right in the front. The ice machine on the main floor was out of order. The elevator was small and slow. Breakfast was just fair at best. Our room was not real clean, in fact, there was a dirty wash cloth in our shower. I am glad I didn't want to sleep late, the cleaning staff had a VERY loud discussion right outside our door at 9:00 AM. Set the thermostat to 68 degrees, and got about 80. The staff was friendly.

I may be giving this place a higher rating than it deserves -simply because I had the best night's sleep after a month in the states. The room temperature was good. The bed actually had a clean doona and the block out shades worked.

It was SO comfortable -I didn't mind spending $10 in the 'guest laundry' to do 2 washes and dries. (only cost $4 in New York for 4 loads and is free at other hotels). Also forgave the pet friendly status of the place -was an interesting experience sharing a lift with a dog thatis banned in Australia (American Pit Bull)-so avoid if you're scared of dogs.

The shower was hot and had great water pressure. The breakfast was fine, got to make my own waffle -but (as usual) tea drinkers aren't catered for -with the 'hot water' being tepid.

Room Tip: King size bed = a good night's sleep

Overall the room was decent enough, but the employees that we dealt with were so rude and acted as if they didn't want to be bothered. The breakfast was horrible. I won't stay there unless its absolutely the only available place to stay.

We spent one night. The hotel is better than average for a Quality Inn. Rooms are quiet and clean. The elevator was on the fritz, not a big deal but the stairwells double as smoking lounges. We would stay here again. The free breakfast was fine.

This is a trucker motel . My first night there I was in rm 407 and I woken up by a hooker offering her services!!!!! I called down to the desk and the person says oh! I'll see who it is . No one came to check the hooker was knocking on doors all night. Breakfast was ok! Not too many people speak English and some sort of trucking school is being run out of the lobby. The kicker was watching the manager talk to the hooker on the side of the building the next morning

FourStar1, Manager at Quality Inn Allentown, responded to this review, February 15, 2013
Here at the quality inn we continue to strive for excellent customer service. Manager had never received a complaint that there was a person knocking on doors. Each and every comment and or concern is addressed by management at the time that they are expressed. Also the Manager does not know what people do in their guest room or what they do as their profession. If a manager is approached by a guest, they will speak to them. Customer service is one of the key factors in this business. The hotel doesnt run a trucking school from their lobby. I would like to invite this guest to stay with us again sometime in the future.

The company I work for has sent me here a dozen times over the last 6 years. I can honestly say I dont have any complaints against this hotel. Rooms are always clean, service is always prompt, people are always polite, and the breakfast selection is more than most hotels. They also have an excercise room. Easy access off 22.

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the elevator otherwise you will have to tote all your belongings down a long...

I had the opportunity to spend two very long weekends, 8 nights, in Allentown, PA, minutes from Dorney Park and the North East Extension. It's just off of the major east- west high way so travel to New Jersey or Harrisburg couldn't be easier as well as the Poconos to the north and Philadelphia to the south. The location was conveniently located just a minute off of route 22, a major thoroughfare in Allentown. Easy on and easy off. Necessities of life, stores, restaurants, etc., are close and easy to get to. If the amusement park is your calling, the hotel's location is great. The amenities are reliable and parking is up close and convenient. If you want easy access and a reliable hotel in the Allentown area, don't pass up this hotel.
