“So close to it all in Ashland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We had a wonderful surprise when we arrived at the property. We had a special deal that really was quite special. The hotel is undergoing a lot of renovation (but certainly nothing that bothered guests) and once they are completed it will be quite the location.

The property is on the south end of Ashland on the east side of I5. When we drove in I was worried about traffic noise - there was none. Our room was a suite complete with a King bed with in room sink area (so nice for two people getting ready in the morning), 2 TV's, a separate living area with a desk (and free wifi) and a small sink area with coffee, small refrigerator and microwave. We had a nice small patio but just a few steps more and we were in a well appointed seating area with all new outdoor furniture. The view was lovely. And, not to far away was a huge pool.

We were treated to a bottle of wine and delicious chocolates in the room and warm cookies in the lobby. Breakfast too was included. It was billed as continental but quite elaborate and having warm hard boiled eggs was right up my alley.

As part of our special, we had dinner at Belle Floire Winery about 6 minutes from the property. See a review on that place -- pretty fabulous. And, the check in person gave us a lot of suggestions for our second night out. We selected Larks and low and behold she also gave us a discount coupon for the location (see reviews of Larks).

The property is about 6 minutes from the heart of Ashland. That meant we had to find parking but somehow we lucked out every time. If you want a property that is NOT right in town, this one is a very good choice.

Room Tip: we were on the ground floor at the back of the property and really liked that

Really. Great location, especially for the theater. Rooms were clean and up to date, even if the bathrooms are somewhat old fashioned, everything worked, including good water pressure, and while there was a desk and chair in the room, they left little space for walking about. Breakfast was an unexpected surprise; first, that it was offered and second, for the variety provided. Great value for the money, to boot!

We traveled with our grandsons, so we asked for adjoining rooms knowing full well that this is difficult to do. To our surprise, the hotel manager upgraded us to two adjoining suites.
We had everything and more that we wished for. In the morning they brought us a continental breakfast to our rooms with O.J., tea, coffee, toast , apples, bananas, yoghurt to get us going.
A special attraction is the size able pool and jacuzzi, which we used every day. The pool, while not very warm, was comfortable enough to swim at 76 degrees.
The rooms were spotless and the hotel service was great.
When we selected this hotel we compared with other, mostly older hotel in downtown Ashland. We felt we made the right decision to stay at Ashland Hills, even though it was a few miles to get into town. But there was never any traffic.

Room Tip: Stay in the Suites for extra room and comfort.

This past weekend we had 26 rooms at the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites in Ashland, Oregon. The hotel pre-registered all of us (we prepaid) and handed us our keys on arrival. The rooms are huge, the beds are fabulous, the pillows are great, HDTV channels, beautiful landscaping, pool & hot tub, reasonable price .....can't say enough good things about this hotel. I would definitely stay here again......I look forward to going back to Ashland!!

Room Tip: The pool area is very pretty.....may be noisy

This property has been a hotel for a long time with various owners. In 2014, it got its newest owners who obviously are trying to put a lot of love into the property.

The customer service from the front desk to the housekeeping was above average and very genuine.

We had a suite so a separate bedroom from the living area and kitchenette. Very roomy and the price was outstanding for what we got.

A couple little touches like a Privacy sign for the door, a laundry bag in the room, and some utensils or plates for the kitchenette would really take this property to a rating of 5. These things may very well be in the works, too, as it's obvious that renovation is still being done.

We would definitely stay again, and it's very convenient to the freeway and downtown Ashland.

Room Tip: Request a suite that faces the freeway. You'll get a view of the town and mountains as well.

We spent Thanksgiving in Ashland and stayed at this property in the South of Ashland, less than 10 minutes from the university. Everything went like clockwork. Our suite was well equipped, clean and serviced very well. There is a small exercise room with aerobic equipment. The hotel is spacious and has several wings, but connected to the front lobby through a central atrium, so it is an easy walk. Price was also right - five stars from me.

Overall this is a clean, cozy hotel. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are in good condition, and have everything you might need. Lobby looks exceptional--hotel is just nice. Breakfast is fine.
