“A very good choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Just because I am rating this as five stars doesn't mean it's a "Five Star Hotel". It's definitely not. What it is--an immaculate, spacious, moderately priced lodging option in a town of over-priced bed and breakfasts. And we loved it.

We were not in Ashland for a romantic weekend of theater and dining. We were moving from Portland to San Francisco, with all our wordly possessions in a huge truck, and a irritated cat in my car. We were thrilled to find cat-friendly accomodations, and even more thrillled by the huge parking lot right off the freeway (not in the cute, historic downtown, thank goodness for us). The bed was huge and while it seemed like it might be too soft, we ended up really liking it. I think this would be a great lodging resouce for families or groups--the suite is so big, you could comfortably hang out and socialize, etc. There aren't so many $100/night hotels you can say that about.

As other reviewers indicated, the lobby is oddly-located--near the back of the facility, in a space that was clearly not intended to welcome guests. But it functions just fine. We also didn't love the breakfast of toast and fruit, but for travellers, it was also just fine. And any deficits were more than compensated by the price, the tidiness, and the spaciousness. I'd stay there again any time, and probably will.

“The Only Place to Stay in Ashland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here! I've stayed at other locations in Ashland, but never had the wonderful experience I had here. Starting with the front desk, where the we met Cindy who is one of the sincerely nicest hostesses I have ever met! We instantly felt welcome. The property is very clean and spacious and has great views all around it. You are only moments from downtown, but feel as if you're staying a distance from the city. The suites are very spacious and clean. The private balcony is a nice touch. The continental breakfast delivered right to your door, complete with hot coffee is a nice touch. You definitely feel the entire time that you are here, that they really, really care that you have a nice, comfortable stay. They WANT you to have a good experience and will guarantee that you do. I like to spend the weekend in Ashland a few times a year and I can guarantee this is the only place I will stay from now on.

“Clean, comfortable and nice service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We travelled with our large dog and stayed here because Village Suites accommodated her with no extra charge - which is kind of unheard of these days. Upon checkin the front desk staff was friendly and concerned about our satisfaction. The cookies and apples and if you have a dog, treats, were a nice addition. There is a big designated pet area. The room was a bit dated (TV's are teeny) but it was clean and the bed was super comfy and that's what really matters. Water pressure in the shower was surprisingly good. The breakfast delivery was nice - simple fare but was nice to have on the road. It's not really within a comfortable walking distance to Ashland proper but that was not a big deal for us.

“These Suites are Sweet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We were in Ashland for a family get together. We had 4 rooms and each room slept 4-6 people. The hotel is actually a Windmill Inn timeshare. It is newer and very nice.
First the cons. No pool or hot tub.
Now the pros. There really are so many. We all were very pleased with the hotel. The room is a small apartment with a small kitchenette with coffee maker, fridge and microwave. There is a hugh bathroom with an extra sink and mirror in the bedroom. 2 TVs, phones in bedroom, living room and in bathroom. Nice grounds, tennis courts, and they provide the equipment. They will even loan you a bicycle to tour the town or just ride around the grounds. They don't have a breakfast room but they do bring a "suite awakening" to the room each morning with plenty of fruit, beverages and toast for all.
All in all it was a "SUITE" experience for all of us.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

We have a son and grand daughter in Ashland so know the hotels well.We have often stayed across the street at the Best Western Windsor Inn.This is a much better value. This is not a room, but a small apartment. The bedroom has a beautiful comfy king bed , through solid French doors is a living room and small kitchenette. It's spotless and quiet. We are in wing 2 where dogs are welcomed. We will come back again and again.
