We have just returned from our fourth stay at this wonderful B&B. The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in the Canterbury Room, a large room with a king bed. two very comfortable chairs, a day bed, a fireplace, and lots of windows. Parking for this room and the one next to it , the Windsor Room, is right in front of the door. The inn is within walking distance of the theater although the walk back up the hill is steep. The breakfasts are fine and they will accomodate any dietary restrictions. The back has a hillside garden., a pool and hot tub, and a very nice, large patio, great for sitting out with a good book or friends. Don and Deanna, the owners, are very nice people! We love this inn and know you will too.

Fabulous, delightful inn, innkeepers are attentive to (nearly) every detail. I read all reviews I could find about this inn before booking and questioned Deana, the innkeeper, directly about the "unrelaxing" review here on Trip Advisor. She gave a courteous and non-condenming response that satisfied me enough to go ahead and book. My husband and I agreed: we are so glad I did.

Light timers: On only 2 lights of many in the livingroom to ensure that guests returning late from the theatre can see their way in. We returned at 11:45 pm. and really appreciated them.

The innkeepers do make an effort to provide you with alternatives to practices that would shorten the life of their supplies. For example: they provide generous and fluffy pool and spa towels
and ask that you don't use room towels at the pool. There are special "industrial use wipes" in your room, nicely presented, for cleaning shoes, etc, also to avoid the use of room towels for such things. I saw this as thoughtful and helpful. Someone else might see this as "controlling".

If I was trying to find fault I couldn't come up with more than that the cookies in the cookie jar were stale and the jar was not refilled when only 4 old cookies were left in the jar. Also, the welcoming tour and orientation perhaps could be offered after guests have a chance to use the restroom facilities and freshen up after a long , hot drive BUT I wasn't looking to find fault and we found these 2 things to be comparatively minor. B & B Inns are run by individuals, and we guests get to enjoy and benefit from that individuality and sometimes get to puzzle over it.

These hosts greeted us with the incredible news that they had upgraded us from one of their more modest rooms to their grandest suite "because it was available and that's just what we do when we can". We had a private door that was only 2 steps to the pool and spa, private garden, HUGE very private apt like room with sunken sitting area and huge bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed this Cambridge Suite (which generally is $40 more per night than the room we had reserved.)

I can't thank our innkeepers enough for the lovely experience.

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful stay at the Romeo Inn. The owners were friendly and the accomadations were excellent. We stayed in the Canterbury room - a large room with two doors - one a private entrance and one that leads into the rest of the house. Nice touches included a plate of cookies and ice tea always available in the kitchen, chocolates in our room at night, and a nice pool and hot tub in the private back yard with beautiful gardens. Breakfast was delicious and included home made pastries, a fruit plate, and a hot entree such as "baked pancakes". The house is about a 15 minute walk to the theaters.

New owners took over a few years ago and we stumbled on this inn when they were there a couple of years. Our visit was memorably terrible. In fact they embarrassed us in front of the friends who had recommended the place! The owners were very controlling as to what you could do, where, when and how (you weren't even allowed to carry your bags up the stairs for fear you'd bang the walls) and they kicked our friends out when they came to visit us there and see the place -- because no unregistered "guests" are allowed on the premises!! Topping that, they had timers everywhere going on or off randomly, controlling lamps and lights. The owners seemed too tense to be B&B hosts and made for an unpleasant visit. On top of that, the room was not that nice. We swore never to return and since have stayed at many other much more gracious places in Ashland, a great town to visit.
