During our recent trip to southern Oregon, we were fortunate enough to spend 2 nights at the Peerless. We rented room 7, which was a 2 room suite with an oversized shower/jacuzzi tub, themed in an African style, complete with murals painted on the walls. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very quiet. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
The staff told us they spent 3 years rennovating this old boading house that dated back to railroad construction days. The historical aspect was well integrated into the property, and you could definitely get that 'old frontier' feel as you walked the hallways.
Our room had a nice stereo system and music channels, but no TV, so if you like TV, be sure to plan ahead. Either you get to spend more quality time with your partner sans your favorite show, or bring your laptop and Netflix account and use the wireless Internet and snuggle up on the couch to watch a movie, as we did one night during the rain.
The front desk is often unattended, so you get your own keys to the front door and your room. This added to the romance feeling for us as it felt like we had the place to ourselves, only seeing others at breakfast. The breakfast that was included was great. A fresh cooked gourment breakfast at the Peerless Restaurant (right next door) where you get the selection of the day or a standard granola cereal alternative. We got fresh waffles one day and scrambled eggs with peppers and mushrooms another. Best breakfast included with a room we have ever had - hands down!
This is definitely a great place for a romantic getaway.
