If you go to Ashland this is a wondeful place to stay. From the moment you walk into the inn until you leave the service and friendliness of the staff are outstanding. We had a large lovely room with a balcony overlooking a small hilside. The furnishing were outstanding. The breakfast on the porch was very good and again the service was great. We wished we had booked more than one night.

“A Beautiful Retreat”

The Inn is absolutely charming and the grounds are incredibly beautiful. Chuck and Debbie, the innkeepers, are wonderful hosts. Debbie is a fantastic cook and I really looked forward to each breakfast - not to mention the homemade goodies that were laid out during the day into the evening.

I stayed in the Oak Room which was separate from the house and had a private deck. It was such a nice retreat and exactly what I was looking for. I slept so well there!

I loved lounging in the pool, walking the trails, meeting some really nice people and getting to know Ashland.

I was fortunate enough to have a lovely massage from Sharon Dvora, a massage therapist who just happens to live next door to the Inn. That was actually a coincidence as I found her on the internet!

Country Willows Inn is one of those gems that you know you will come back to. I'm already planning my next visit!

“Truly Exceptional”

Country Willows Bed and Breakfast Inn

Aug 22, 2008

We chose Country Willows based on the Trip Advisor ratings, and I have to say this B&B absolutely merits all of the outstanding accolades it has received. You can bask in a beautiful setting, delight in luxurious rooms, enjoy the lovely pool (which is a rare feature among B&Bs), and have a truly outstanding breakfast (we had a choice of corn and leek quiche and French roast with pecans and cinnamon – both were fantastic, along with delicious organic teas and coffee). Lots of additional amenities, too!

The innkeepers are lovely, and have a passion for what they do. I really can’t add anything more to the reviews that have already been given. This is a truly upscale experience. This was also our first trip to Ashland, and we fell in love with the town. We hope to return to see a few plays. Note: The Almond Room is perfectly charming, and is an excellent value.

“Fabulous country inn, in town!”

My family loved the Country Willows Inn. The hosts were super friendly, the breakfasts divine, and the setting was beautiful. We stayed in the converted barn, with large rooms and great finishes. The pool was quiet and restful, the walks up the creek fantastic, the gardens in bloom were a treat. This was our first trip to the Ashland Rogue River area, and we used the inn as a base camp for exploring the valley. It was the perfect spot - on the edge of town for a real 'rural' flavor, yet just 5 minutes drive into the heart of the restaurants and playhouses downtown. My two boys (10 and 13) really enjoyed the nights when bats flew overhead in the lights, catching bugs and our tossed pebbles. My wife liked napping by the pool, and I liked the breakfasts - they were interesting and flavorful.

Highly recommended!

“A Lovely Inn With True Hospitality”

Country Willows Bed and Breakfast Inn

San Francisco

We have been visiting Ashland for the last 20+ years. We stayed at Country Willows when it first opened--at that time it was our favorite inn in Ashland, but that was two sets of innkeepers ago. After our youngest children were born, we skipped the Shakespeare Festival for a few years, and have only recently returned. This year we decided to try Country Willows again, with some doubt that it could be as nice as we remembered. We shouldn't have worried -- It was more comfortable and gracious than ever. We highly recommend it.

The rooms are comfortably furnished and quiet, the bathrooms very well appointed. The full breakfast is very tasty (and ample enough to skip lunch), and coffee and a snack were set out earlier, along with a good set of morning papers. We stayed 4 nights this year, and each breakfast was completely different. There is ample space, even when the inn is full -- you can always find a quiet corner of the porch, garden or grounds to enjoy by yourself. The pool also has ample seating, and while it isn't huge, a pool is a welcome rarity in an Ashland inn.

While the individual parts are good, Country Willows is much greater than the individual parts. The innkeepers, Debbie & Chuck, truly understand hospitality, and try to make sure that each guest is really comfortable. Different varieties of iced tea and cookies are set out each afternoon, there are always plenty of big pool towels waiting when you're done swimming, and if you must get on line, there's a computer with good DSL access for guest use. We know Ashland restaurants fairly well after years of visits, but Debbie filled me in on what was new, and what in particular my kids might or might not enjoy. There are a few bicycles available for guest use (with helmets), and I was able to go out for a ride each morning before breakfast before the summer heat kicked in. Those are just some of the small touches.

Finally, the setting of the inn is truly special -- it's on the edge of town, up on the ridge, with beautiful views and hiking access. It's at the end of the road, and absolutely quiet, with the best night skies in Ashland. The grounds and gardens are lovely. A stay here is truly a rest.
