My husband and I were able to get away for a couple days without the kiddo and we had never been to Ashland before so we didn't know what to expect or where to stay. We chose Country Willows based on reviews off the internet and they served us well! We absolutely loved this place. When we booked we noticed that you can get a discount off the room rate if you book play tickets at the same time. This worked perfectly for us because we were planning on attending 2 plays. Even better, not only did Country Willows take off a percentage of the room rate, but the tickets were cheaper than what we could get on our own, so we ended up saving a ton! Kara, the owner of the B&B, was able to get us great seats too! When we arrived we had originally booked the Bunk Room, but Kara gave us the option to upgrade to the Hayloft Suite. We got to look at both rooms before we decided and they both were impressive. The Bunk Room was smaller, but I thought very cozy and sat further back in the barn with it's own private deck. This too me was going to be the perfect, quiet place to relax and getaway. Then she showed us the Hayloft Suite. It was great. It had a ton of space (more than we needed) and even a little kitchenette. But the biggest bonus was the bathroom. It had a two person shower and giant soaking tub. Although it faced the house and did not seem as tucked away, I couldn't pass up these amenities. Worrying about not being set back as far as the Bunk Room didn't end up being an issue anyway. The B&B was extremely quiet. There was only one other couple there at the time we were and we never heard anything. It was some of the best sleep I have had. Breakfast was served in the morning in the second story above their detached "garage". The breakfast space is as phenomenal as the breakfast. It is a huge room with a fireplace and scenic views. The tables are set through out the room in a similar fashion as a restaurant. I enjoyed this immensely. I have never stayed at a B&B before, but I know that you are often seated at one table in a dining room with many other couples. The set up here allows you to have your own space or socialize with others. I liked having the option. The food was impressive. Very creative and delicious. In fact, one dish was so good I have been recreating it at home. Country Willows is also very accommodating to what ever you may need. First, I am gluten free and they didn't bat an eye. They just adjusted what ever they were making for me. At breakfast the first morning I asked if they had decaf coffee. The inn keeper was quick to offer to make some right away and the next morning I didn't even have to ask. He had a whole pot already brewed for me! Finally, the location in my opinion is perfect. The B&B seems as if it is right in the local neighborhood as you are driving, but then the road ends and you hit the private drive. There it sits, at the end of a neighborhood, but on it's own private acreage. It is only a couple minutes drive from town so you are close to everything, but feel like you have left town to a country retreat. Also, worth mentioning is that hiking trails are accessible right from the property. You can wake up, walk out your door, go for a hike and be back for breakfast. All in all, this was a fabulous time. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for such a thoughtful review. You really captured so many things that we love about our inn. Perhaps the thing we love most is the secluded location, yet only minutes from town. Having five acres to enjoy with porches, patios, gardens, a heated pool, and miles of hiking trails leading right from the property really gives our guests a very different experience than the inns downtown on the city streets. Thanks again for your review. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
