I do not usually write reviews, but I felt this time it was most deserving. We stayed with Barbara and Scott for 3 nights while visiting Ashland. The last 2 days their beautiful/charming/smart granddaughters joined us. From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and welcome. Barbara met us outside, showed us the grounds, our enormous room and the inside of their impressive home ( a beautiful dome, built by Scott and Barbara.) The walls are adorned with original artwork, most done by Scott's brother and Barbara. Scott created all the stained glass. The grounds are extensive, with a large pond, vegetable garden and horses. We spent time sitting on the porch, under the oak trees, admiring the grounds, and playing with Pepper, the most energetic 10 year old lab ever. The rooms were lovely, with a queen size bed downstairs and twins in the loft, comfortably accomodating a family of 4, or 2 couples. The bedding was luxurious, robes and slippers were provided. Barbara's breakfast were amazing. Not only were they delicious, but creative, with servings that kept us satisfied until dinner time. She was very accomodating, willing to serve breakfast when we wanted. The best part was getting to know her and Scott. They visited with us at breakfast, sharing life stories, like friends do when sharing a meal. Staying at A-Dome gave us the opportunity to have a bi-vacation. We did the plays and shopped Ashland, the traditional Ashland experience. But we also woke to birds singing, horses naying and were not far from taking a 5 mile hike around a beautiful lake, finishing with yummy pizza. I highly recommend giving Barbara a call and making your next stop in Ashland at the A-Dome Studio. We Can't wait to return.
