“Excellent service adn food”

I have been visiting Ashland for 12 or so years now and have eaten at Greenleaf several times for breakfast and lunch. We recently brought our two young children with us to Ashland for the first time and were looking for a family-friendly restaurant that we could all agree on. We definitely found it here. Even though they were busy with theater-goers we were greeted warmly and the children were made more than welcome. We eat vegetarian and as organic as possible at home and find it hard to find healthy vegetarian food when dining out , so were were thrilled with the healthy menu options with a wide range of flavors and great children's options. We enjoyed each dish so much we were eating off each other's plates and had to order more. Even my husband who said he wasn't hungry found he couldn't stop eating simply because it was so good. We'll be back to Ashland next year and will definetly be visiting Greenleaf again.

“Loved the Greenleaf!”

We ate lunch here and sat upstairs on their deck overlooking the creek. I ordered one of their specials (quiche), which was very good, and it came with fresh fruit salad (wonderful!). My husband had fish and chips, and he said they were really good too. We had excellent service, and enjoyed the breeze, sunshine, and creek below us. We'll definitely be back!

“Greenleaf - My Choice When I Am In Ashland”

Greenleaf Restaurant

I have lived in Ashland for over 29 years before moving to the coast. Greenleaf Restaurant and Deli has been my choice for a meal out. Every time I am back in Ashland, stop by Greenleaf for breakfast.

Although Greenleaf like most of the restaurants in Ashland caters to the tourists, Daniel Greenblatt, the Owner, is especially responsive to local customers and their tastes. He employs an excellent staff. His people are always well-mannered, professional, and accommodating.
Greenleaf’s menu one of the most varied I have found. My taste is four natural and organic meals. The also have install is a Multi-Pure water filter, so that all water server to you when you come in is filtered. I especially like their conscious efforts to do a little extra.

I love to Greenleaf in the late morning; I like to set inside where there is a view of the creek available. If you're looking for a great breakfast and a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere, Greenleaf is the place.

As locals we've been coming here for years, but usually not in prime tourist season. We made the mistake of doing so last week and had the worst possible experience primarily due to the uncaring and manipulative server pulling some sort of racist Asian act of condescending ignorance. We waited over 35 minutes for food. After the first 25 minutes we asked how much longer and were told "oh yes it's cooking now." Server never bother to return after dropping this bomb (I really hoped my pasta hadn't been cooking for 30 minutes) so we decided to cut our losses and walked out.

We've both noticed the service taking a serious plunge over the past couple years, and the food quality along with it , but had no inclination things had deteriorated to this level. Sad to say we won't ever return but as there are many new and better restaurants in Ashland it's no great loss. The patio is nice but there are others equally enjoyable.

Management Response
Daniel Greenblatt, Owner
(Management representative)

As the owner and manager of the Greenleaf Restaurant for the past 23 years I was disturbed to read this recent review. I am always appreciative of constructive customer comments and feedback as it has helped us stay on top of our game. We strive to provide fresh, safe and healthy food in a timely fashion. Yes, there are times in the busy season when hot food does take 30 minutes to prepare after ordering. As noted on our table tents..."in a hurry, we suggest deli fare". My experience, having lived and dined out in ashland for close to 30 years is, that diners that arrive at a busy ashland restaurant during the height of the tourist season, in the middle of a meal rush can plan on a wait for their food. We are not a fast food diner...all meals are prepared fresh to order. As far as the comment, "uncaring, manipulative server"...sorry, we hire what we believe are competent, upbeat, caring servers and train to our standards. The other comment "racist asian act of condescending ignorance"...is this referring to a server or the customer honor diversity and are respectful of all...even those who are quick to throw around accusations of "racist". By the way, on a planet that is struggling to feed its people and to survive, walking out on a meal as it is being delivered to the table is incredibly wasteful. Yep, 30 minutes was a long wait...we'll do better next time...thanks for the feedback...daniel

This place is one of my favorites. I live in Ashland and eat there a lot. The moment you walk in the door you feel at home. The staff is friendly and always right there to meet your needs.
The menu offers a huge range of choices including everything from full on carnivore food to great vegetarian and vegan options. The chefs and the staff are always ready to make sure you get the type of food you need.
Speaking of the food, it is delicious. The daily specials always offer something extraordinary. Potato Pancakes, Greek Caesar Salads, Cajun snapper wrap, the BLAST (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Sprouts and Tomatos) sandwich, the best batter on their fish and chips, all of these things don't even begin to express the variety of great food available.
Greenleaf is downtown on the Plaza close to the Festival, they are quick as well as excellent. I recommend the GreenLeaf wholeheartedly. You will be satiated and have a great experience.
