We had a dinner with friends at Amuse: some of the food was good, but not perfect, however, the service was seriously lacking. We had their signature tomato salad, nice to look at the different color tomatoes, but the taste was not good - just your average store bought sour tasting tomatoes with a minimal dressing. Disappointment! The entrees of halibut and the Parisian version of dumplings were well prepared and very tasty. The desserts were bigger than expected and mostly good, but not exceptional: the baked Alaska was way over- sweetened.
The service was really unacceptable for a restaurant that aspires to fine dining. We ordered sparkling water and the waitress just placed the bottle, without bothering to open it, in front of person who ordered it. The wine was initially served properly, but nobody came to refill the glasses or to ask how is the food. All in all, it was a mixed experience, and surprisingly inadequate service in an expensive restaurant.
