We ate at a lot of good restaurants in Ashland but this was not one of them. We were really looking forward to Biazzi as one of our top choices to try, having seen some great reviews. Overall, the experience left much to be desired, from the start. The server was very rude and unattentive, at one point asking how the entree was and
then literally turning and walking away as we started to respond. She
didn't really want to hear what we thought. She did seem to treat some of the other customers with more attentiveness and smiles, perhaps because they were ordering multiple bottles of wine. When we asked about having something less than the four course menu, we were apparently branded as not the right type of customer and this was seriously discouraged. As for the food, it was okay but not what I expect at a restaurant like this, and for about $90 a couple with just one glass of wine between us. The antipasti plate was fairly mediocre, as were the entrees (a pork loin and some prawns). Not bad but really nothing to make me want to go back. We didn't even eat the
caeser salad, which was so overgarlicked that it was too strong to enjoy (and I love garlic). But really the worst part was the service. Had there been a maitre de or someone like that, I would have stopped on the way out to mention the bad experience but there wasn't such a person. So if I am in Ashland again, I'd revisit Amuse or Lark but not Biazzi.
