Chozu Guesthouses are essentially two separate apartments, located in the 'Railway' part of Ashland, a little less than a mile from the Shakespeare venues. It's a nice walk to the theaters, and the food coop is close. Both cottages have one bedroom, with nice tiled shower, kitchenette, electric wok, toaster, microwave, and toaster. Problem was, all seemed to be on same electrical circuit, so we shorted out, and the attendant didn't know where the circuit breaker was. Fortunately, my husband hunted it out.
One cottage is larger than the other, and can accommodate four, if pullout queen sofa sleeper is used. The smaller one is fine for two. Both are very quiet, with windows that open.
Bedrooms are nice, beds comfortable with fine quality bedding. One bedroom has a skylight, the other can be made dark, which I need. Each cottage has its own entrance. You have your own private garden on each side, with tables and chairs and trees and nice fences and gates.
As a guest at the cottages, you have complimentary use of hot tub and fabulous steam bath, plus Japanese tea service, which we didn't have time to take advantage of..
For $180 /night, this is an outstanding deal for Ashland. We only ate out once, and that was because family was around.
