“Lots and lots of fresh organic choices!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

I remember the co-op when it was just downstairs from my office on 3rd street. Now, it has expanded and filled its building and parking lot, and feels like it is going to burst out at any moment. The place is packed with every thing you could possibly want to eat, has great beer & wine section, lots of fun snacks, and produce galore. The buffet provides so many great options, too. If you want to meet the people that live in our community, this is where you're likely to find them!

“One of the best organic food stores in America”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This place is amazing. Everything is organic, natural and mostly local. Huge selection (including wines). Interesting and varied clientele, including most of the town's counter culture residents. Will do special orders and take back anything even without a receipt. Not just a supermarket, a destination.

“Our every-other-night place to dine when we're in Ashland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Sometimes when you're traveling, you want a nice salad bar and some crunchy tofu and even that ultimate comfort food, lentil loaf! For about $8 a person, you can load up on such a variety of salads and fresh fruit. You can eat it in the little dining nook and wash it down with free water.
This coop is a good place for people-watching. It's also a good place to buy olive oil, vinegar, and beeswax candles. I also purchased kitchen glasses here one year.
If you want hot food, arrive before 8 p.m.

“I shop here all the time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Freshest food outside of a farmers' market. It is definitely not cheap to shop here but you can count on quality. They have the best fish in Ashland. Everything is organic so don't' come here for the kind of stuff you might go to Safeway for. I would not buy everything here, but for produce, cheese, meats, fish, bread, it's great.

“Great store, but non-"owner" beware”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

The co-op is great in a lot of ways, even though the parking lot is INSANE. Always crowded with people aggressively circling in their hybrids and subarus. BUT, if you don't know the "deal" the staff (or owners?) are real jerks to you.
Okay, so you have to bag your own stuff and you have to find the bags/boxes to do so. They won't tell you where they are until they are done watching you stand there looking like an idiot. They also ask "are you an owner" when you reach the register, and if you say no, they basically glare at you!! The first time I went in I had no idea what they were talking about! Even the folks at the smoothie counter are rude.

So, if you can steel yourself against rude hippie-types, and need organic local food--this is the place for you!

And, yes, this is a grocery store and not a restaurant, although they do sell some prepackaged food and there are some tables outside.
