“Best of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Little place hidden away from the center of town was a great surprise, even we were somewhat ready after reading few reviews before our trip. No, it isn't plush or beautifully decorated. Main attraction is food - exquisitely prepared, nicely presented, served with grace. Service was outstanding without five people standing behind our chairs. Friendly staff was very knowledgeable - we followed their recommendation in the local wine selection and were very pleased. Coquina in not very cheap, but beats San Francisco Bay Area prices by much. Worth every penny (dollar)!!! Place was not packed when we walked in, but slowly started to fill up. I can bet that next year or so it will be hard to get in, specially during festival times.

“The BEST restaurant in Ashland !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

The food was outstanding. Fresh pistachio encrusted Halibut was exquisite, prepared to perfection. Creme Brulee should not be passed by - the best I have ever had. Service was impeccable. Dining experience at Coquina should not be missed.

“Wonderful Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Coquina was an exceptional experience. The food was delicious. We shared appetizers (and there was plenty to go around) beet salad, foie gras were my favorites!
The scallops were the best I have ever had, so fresh and perfectly seared ,and the sauce added an element of depth to the flavor. The halibut and gnocchi were also terrific - halibut so fresh, cooked perfectly and with a delicious sauce.Gnocchi as light and flavorful as possible.

We had a group of eight and were seated on time, had very attentive service, and with a two hour dinner we left in perfect time to make the 8:00pm show.

We will definitely return. This is a terrific restaurant!!

“Wonderful food in a Cozy Garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We were very pleasantly surprised with our meal in this restaurant. We ate in the garden, which was very pleasant. The food was innovative, tasty, and beautifully presented. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The wine list was reasonably priced. The meal is a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it.

“More than worth the walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

On a recent trip to Ashland, we went a bit off the path of all the Oregon Shakespeare Festival activity and took a short and interesting walk to try Coquina - and we were so pleased we did.
We are avid NYC diners, not easily pleased, and we were so impressed with the level of cooking and the accommodating staff. The food had a very personal, inventive and light touch - we wish we could have lingered longer but had to run to a show!
