Ate at Coquina while visiting the Shakspeare Festival on the recommendation of friends who said it was their best restaurant experience during their visit. Asked for the patio as it was a warm August evening. Having noted complaints about slow service by other reviewers, we went in plenty of time to make the show, but that proved unnecessary as the service was friendly, helpful and prompt. One of us had the Dungeness crab-avocado salad, two had the Crab-corn soup, one the warm foie gras. We were all delighted with the delicious dishes-my husband practically licked the soup bowl!
As mains we had the Gnocchi and the seared scallops, both were excellent with my friend declaring the scallops "the best he had ever eaten".
For dessert we had the lemon cello sherbert with one of the four having the Pear-ginger sherbert. All excellent.
A great addition to the town, a little off the beaten path but still walk able to the theaters.

Coquina serves the most creative and delicious fare in all of Ashland. Our salads- dungene,ss crab and beet were garden fresh. The raviolis tasted sublime and the scallops were superb. We shared a wonderful cheesecake for dessert. All in all with a nice bottle of clos electrique Cameron Pinot Noir, this was our most enjoyable meal in Ashland. Exceptional culinary experience.

We come to Ashland every summer and have strolled by this restaurant many times. I'm kicking myself for not having dined here before. Between the three of us we had a soup, three small plates, a salad and a main. Every dish was splendid. High points- beet salad with trumpet mushrooms, fried artichokes, an uni flan of sorts and the pistachio crusted halibut. An added treat was a bartender/ server who knows his stuff and can really mix a martini (stirred not shaken). Don't miss this one, but consider dining here when you don't have an evening show. Reserve as the theater crowd is leaving and you'll have unhurried service and a terrific meal.
