“Good People and Good Beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Caldera is where we go when we want a place we feel comfortable and know that we'll get good food and good service.

Caldera has a wide range of quite interesting beers. The food menu is nothing to write home about (except maybe the sweet potato fries)--just your basic tavern burgers. But the folks who work there are always very friendly. They make you feel like you belong, even if you've shown up for the first time from across the country.

“Great food, service & beer!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Great food, great service and damn tasty beer!! The Big Island Caldera Red Sea is my favorite - made w/ Himalayan pink salt, pink peppercorns, molasses & natural chocolate. The Mogli is my 2nd favorite - a chocolate, bourbon, oak aged Imperial Porter. For a lighter beer, I loved the Rose Petal Imperial Golden Ale, delicious! I really wanted to try the Toasted Coconut Chocolate Porter & Oatmeal Stout, however, they were out because they are both popular.
For an appetizer I highly suggest the stuffed Peppadew Peppers, the flavor is over the top!
And they have moved to a new spot, it's 590 Clover Lane, Ashland, OR.
Definitely will return!!

“A Magnificient array of brews in Ashland, Oregon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

First of all, this is a pub (food is available and generous servings, but it is a pub). So the food is not the priority. They brew the most astonishing varieties of beers, ales, and largers available in southern Oregon. Many are available only on tap, such as Big Island Caldera Red Sea (an IPA with Himalayan Pink Salt, peppercorns, molasses, chocolate, and malts). A knockout. With temperatures in the high 90s, sitting outside and drinking my favorite, Hibiscus Ginger beer, is totally consuming. I thought so much of this brewery that I bought a couple of "growlers" (a way to take home tap beer) and returned with them to the Bay Area. Wow am I popular all of a sudden! Anyway, food is adequate, but beer and service is unbeatable....

“Caldera Tap House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

A little off the beaten path but worth the trip. If you like beer, this is the place to be. The place is gorgeous, very modern, large with extremely high ceilings. It's like being is a converted barn but lovely. Good food too, hamburgers etc.

“Nice outdoor seating on a hot day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We went at dusk and sat on the patio. It was very cool and shady while the temperature outdoors was about 100 degrees. The food was average for a bar. The beer list was pretty extensive but not exceptional. The staff seemed very busy and service was a little slow. I am not sure there was adequate staff at the time of our visit. This seemed to be a pretty average bar.
