“The Church of Beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Oregon is swimming in micro breweries, but Caldera remains my favorite. Jim, the owner, is obsessed with beer in all its varieties and his taps reflect this obsession. They make, in my opinion, the best pilsner one can get outside of Pilsen, Czech Republic. They have the full range of hop-heavy beers, too. Plus they have Mogli, which is unlike any other porter out there.

“Great Beer Selection, Friendly Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Best beer I had in Oregon, in a fun setting with friendly, helpful staff. Didn't have any food (we'de just eaten), but saw some of the other customers eating some pretty tasty looking chow. Highly recommend this place.

“OK food, great beer!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

We love craft beer (see our noses tilt up slightly in beer snobbery?) and this is one of favorite small brew pubs. The food is good although nothing gourmet... Just good pub food... Burgers, fries, etc. but come for the beer! Our favorite is Mogli?...."a chocolate, bourbon, oak-aged Imperial Porter"... which can only be purchased at the Tap House at the moment. Yum! If you like it, you can also purchase a bottle or two to take with you. We loved it so much, we took a whole case home one visit!

“Great Beer for every taste”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

My husband is a hop head, and I love the dark malty stuff. We were in heaven at Caldera in Ashland, Oregon where they had Hoportunity knocks (very hoppy) and Mogli, a chocolaty porter named after a dog. We had very good sandwiches (a BLT and the Stinky Hippie, a vegetarian combination that was yummy) and sweet potato fries to accompany the beer. Very good service and reasonable prices topped off an excellent meal.
