New LBJ play opened 8/23--great show.
Having lived through the time period I found it quite convincing.

“Hard to Beat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Truly one of America's best theatrical experiences, right up there with our New York and London playgoing trips. We saw three productions, attended two lectures and did the backstage tour and all were top notch in acting and production values. First was Into the Woods, and this production is not to be missed. We were there the night of the big lightening/thunder storm that stopped the show about three-quarters through Act I -- Miles Fletcher, playing "Jack" -- had just delivered the line "There are giants in the sky" when lightening and thunder flashed and roared, and he went with it, much to the total engagement from the audience. After about a half hour delay, the show went on, and just about all the audience returned -- an excellent cast all the way around, especially the witch. Also did Tempest and Wrinkle in Time, again well acted and presented. A bit of a problem with the Wrinkle in Time adaptation, seemed to sag/drag in the middle --- perhaps trying to cram too much ?
But overall, this is world class theatre, and appreciative audiences from everywhere. So glad we have OSF - our third trip here and always impressed.
See you next year!

“If you like theater don't miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We saw four plays and each one was excellent. Parking is close and only $3. Lots of good restaurants at all price points nearby.
Get a cushion for the outside plays as the seats are a tiny bit uncomfortable.

“Family Album right on.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

I saw Family Album. I'd heard mixed reviews. Yes it was loud - it's about rock and roll and dysfunction with a thread running through. I'm hoping to see it again. Closes 8/31/14. I found the theatre and restrooms to be clean and the personnel very pleasant.

“Residents of Ashland love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

OSF never ceases to amaze us. Always exciting theater, wonderful performances, and often mind-blowing staging. We love it--and it's not all Shakespeare by a long shot.
