“The Very Merry Wives of Windsor, Iowa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Two words: Must See! The contemporary humor, the true Shakespearean gender and sexual inversions and the sweetness of the original play make it a wonderfully accessible play for a 21st century audience.

The last several times we attended the Festival we have been it the outdoor venue. The productions are all top notch and we usually try to go with a group of friends. A very lovely evening for all.

This is one of the finest theater companies in the country. Robert Schenkkan's new play "All the Way" is superb.

“Fantastic as always!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is a highly respected and much-loved festival. People come from all over the country to experience the professional quality and creative touches of these plays. My husband and I have been numerous times, the most recent being this summer. We went to an indoor non-Shakespeare play and an outdoor Shakespeare play --- and both were fantastic! I highly recommend OSF. They deliver year after year --- and each time is original and new!

“As good as anywhere... maybe better.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

I've seen Shakespeare down in Stratford-upon-Avon and countless other venues, and this is FIRST RATE. They all always doing about 3 Shakespeare plays and maybe 3 other ones, so there are many choices (and some come for a week and see it all). Many of the Shakespeare plays are "updated" into modern times, and if that isn't your thing be sure to read up on the offerings.

The outdoor Elizabethan Theater is wonderful on a warm evening. The indoor Angus Bowmer Theater is a spacious facility. There is also a much small "New Theater" (recently named, I think, the Thomas Theater). There isn't a bad seat in any of these theaters.

If you plan ahead, be sure to take the back-stage tour (and book in advance since these fill-up).
