“Affordable room for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Flagship Inn. It was easy to get to and very close to downtown. We paid $80 for a room with 2 queen beds. The room was very clean and convenient. It had a flat screen tv, a refrigerator and the usual amenities. Our window opened and it was nice to breathe that fresh Oregon air. The continental breakfast was the usual: bran flakes and cheerios, oatmeal, coffee, hard boiled eggs, toast/muffins/bagels, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. It was a great snack before we headed downtown. If you can get a great deal on a room at the Flagship Inn it is well worth it. Clean, comfortable and safe.

It is a little over a mile to walk downtown but we just drove and parked in the city lot by the Elizabethan theatre. It is cheap and convenient.

American motels in my mind had certain connotations; basic, hopefully clean and run by dodgy characters. Having never driven outside a major conurbation in the US, motels hadn't featured in the accommodation stakes; this was a first. And a very pleasurable first it was. Basic it wasn't, better equipped than a Best Western, Holiday Inn and most of the hotels in Europe. Very clean, tastefully decorated, coffee maker, ironing board, good sized TV, excellent shower and absorbent towels. Family run, we were made to feel welcome, we were given good advice and we weren't charged a fortune and above all in the US, the family came across as genuine. I'd pay money for that.

Room Tip: The end one to the right as nobody will pass..

We booked on an online hotel booking site after reviewing the reviews here and noting that most of the (few) negative comments were from inexperienced reviewers (for what that's worth). We had a very pleasant experience starting with the easy access, ease to find and front desk receptionist who solved immediatly the problem regarding the booking (the booking agency sent them the wrong night) (I saw what they sent to the hotel and I couble checked what I had--so neither the hotel nor I had made the error. The room was clean, and spacious w/ wifi, crisp sheets, clean tiles etc. The room was quiet. The included breakfast was typical juice, cereal, bagels, cream cheese, hardboiled eggs and oranges. About 1 mile or so from the center/Shakespeare area...fine to walk in summer/warm evenings but probably going to drive it.

IWe have been staying at the Flagship Inn for about 8 years because of it's great location, great prices, clean pool and full breakfast. But there were some problems with the previous management. Some repairs and upgrades were needed and the place was starting to go downhill. But 3 or 4 years ago the Flagship was purchased by the Patel family, and they immediately started making improvements, upgrades and repairs. Now, when we go there, it is a joy to see what Vishal, Big Mike, and the Patel family have done to make things even better! We love staying there! It is clean, the breakfasts are great, the location is still great, and we are looking forward to our next stay.

I travel often for work, and this place is convenient, quiet, clean, the owners are friendly and helpful and the rates are very reasonable. The breakfast has fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, juices and hard boiled eggs - not the usual cheap carbs, and good coffee with real milk too. Excellent internet service, flat screen tv, great beds and shower heads plus nice clean carpets. Thankfully, the rooms have none of that headache inducing cheap deoderizer odor. Great safe place to stay!

I travel to Ashland 4-5 times a year and always stay here. The location is convenient, right across from SOU with good restaurants within walking distance. The free breakfast always has hard boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, toast, yogurt, juices. Great internet service, new TVs, comfy beds-I would highly recommend this place. The owners are always helpful and very nice.
