Looking for a quick stopover point on a drive across the Midwest, I selected this one online based on price and 'reputation'. I should have looked a little further. The room was OK, but just had that run-down feeling. The bathroom, though not dirty, was in desparate need of renovation. The bed was a bit on the firm side (my wife called it plywood) and I could never connect to the 'free' wireless internet. On a walk down the hall to get some ice, it looked like the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in a week. The hot breakfast was the only bright spot, with a well-stocked selection of cereals and pastries, with the option of making a fresh Belgian waffle. If I were making the drive again, however, I'd try someplace else.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights May 8,9 &10. The only reason every other hotel booked. We had blood stained sheets and bed spreads. Only 2 towels in bathroom when we reserved 4 people. One day the room not even cleaned by staff. Hotel being "remodled" for over the past year. Some rooms don't even have room #'s listed so you have to guess which room is yours. They inactived our room key one day so we had to go down and reactivate. Mold on walls and wallpaper removed from Ice/vending area (2nd floor). None of the outside doors locked so anyone could walk in. Only nice thing about this hotel was the staff. They were polite enough to call me 3 days prior to my stay indicating electrical problems and could not guarantee my room for the dates needed. They suggested I find another hotel in town. Hard to do with everyone booked up. Electrical problems corrected so I was "lucky" to get a room. Would not recommended to anyone wanting a clean, safe room.

This hotel is undergoing renovation and it really needs it. Although it was mentioned that they were nearing the completion of the project, I hope that was not correct. It needs a lot of painting and minor repair work. The rooms are okay, but I do not think they are worth $70+ per night. They have a hot breakfast, which is nice, and wireless Internet. It is close to I-35, so is convenient.

This was the worst night I have ever had in a hotel. The carpet was stained and nasty looking, stuff (?) oozed out of seams in the wallpaper, broken tiles in the shower. I was even uncomfortable in my own room as the carpet was sticky. Yuck!

In their defense, however, the front desk told me they are in the process of remodeling the hotel. I would given them a few months as the entire place needs to be gutted and put back together.

It does seem like management cuts corners a lot, however, as this remodel was a few years overdue. One example is that they cut every corner possible in breakfast. There was no cream for the coffee, only powdered creamer, and pancake syrup was generic.
