I stayed at this hotel because the other super 8 was a dump(belmont ave. exit 229) hoping I would get a better room here, boy was I wrong, the room reeked of cigarette smoke the towels felt like sand paper, the hotel accepted pets at $10 per night which I have a small dog, I really feel the room was cleaner after we left, the walls, windows, and furniture had nicotine stains and I may have to get my dog cleaned after leaving, and the manager had the nerve to charge me $10 per day (4 day stay/$40) I am forced to use a "Corprate Logding Card" from the company I work with but I could not use my "Points Rewards" because I was getting the room at a discount, I could not even get a room with a micro/fridge and if I could it would cost extra, for the discount I was getting the manager was making up for the extra fees. The house keepers did not once come to clean the room because my wife did this herself. If you are traveling with a pet and want the convenience of a micro/fridge expect to pay extra for these normally provided amenities. In my opinion there are certain people making a bad name for these normally good hotels.

This is a very basic hotel. It is cheap but there are better hotels nearby for about $8 more a night.

The whole hotel smells and is dirty. The towels were rough.

If you want a very basic place to sleep then this is the right place. If you are looking for anything above that then this is NOT the place to stay

I have been staying at this motel for about a year off and on,and let me tell you this manager needs to be taught how to maintain an motel. The first floor has real bad stains around the bathroom floor, there is pee alway's around the toilet seats. The rooms on that floor has really bad odor's.The other two floors are way better, they are alway's dusted and the bathrooms are spotless. As far as the housekeeper's there are three nice black lady's that are really great, but the other's they are alright.Sometimes I have noticed if I stayed over night that my sheets weren't being changed or my room hadn't been vaccumed.Whereas there were things that isn't in there league to maintain. For instance the laundry has stains, the sheets are so thin that you can rip it,some of the bedspreads have holes in them, some of the pillows have blood stains on them and let me tell you the carpet is just disgusting. From what I hear it hasn't been changed in years nore cleaned. The building windows are really dirty,to where you can't even get a good view out.It was one room I stayed in and the window didn't even have a screen.I have noticed one time there was a pest control company by the name of terminix there,so I was wondering why, that would make you think. The place is just very unsanitary and is a hazard. The manager and his family is living there from what I here and has a kitchen in the motel. Now just think, what if the guest are sleep and a fire breaks out they actually endangered your life, but got paid. And whatever they be cooking "Oh my God" the aroma down the hall is terrible.Lastly, I would just say I would not recommend any one to go there it is a hazard and very unsanitary,I would recommend Sleep Inn,Fairfield Inn,or Country Inn. (The only thing about the place that is great is the price, but like they say you "PAY" for what you get)

“Great Highway Hotel! Fair price, Newer-looking building, Just the basics.”

I stayed a few days in the summer of 2003. This hotel is literally right off a major highway (Interstate 80); You can see and hear every car and truck that drives by. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

The building is attractive on the outside, with its Tudor-like style. They keep it simple and budget-minded. I liked the fact that there were interior corridors. That equals safety in my book. The lobby and rooms had very little beyond the basic furnishings and amenities. There is no pool and no elevator.

As a highway motel for travelers and truckers, this really is a great place. It has just the basics for a good nights rest. For families, it's acceptable, yet kids would definitely get bored hanging out on the property.

The room cleanliness was okay, (some crumbs were seen in hard-to-reach places), but overall the room was clean enough to feel comfortable in! The staff was super friendly, and the price was fair.

“Nicer than expected”

We are currently staying at this hotel, which is at a big I 80 truckstop in Youngstown. The hotel is older, but our room had been refurbished with newer carpet furniture and bedspreads, etc.

The area serves mostly truckers and budget travelers. The management of this hotel obviously takes pride in the property, and it is much cleaner that it was 13 years ago when we stayed here before.

The halls are smoky, but our nonsmoking room was reasonably smoke free and definitely mold/musk free.

I would recommend this as a decent budget hotel --- it is nicer than several others at this interchange!

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — It is clean for the money.
    • Disliked — lots of smokers stay here and the location is not especially savory
