My husband and I stayed at this hotel when his daughter graduated from Copley High. I did not have a problem with no elevator; I did not have a problem with the cleanliness. It was all fine.
In the middle of the second night, the smoke detector went off. We all left the building and stood around in the parking lot for over 30 minutes while they checked the building out. There was a man standing out with us, he said the same thing had happened to him three years before, when he stayed there. The next day I asked the front desk what had happened, and she told me that she could not say that I would have to talk to management. I did not want to risk my life on an "I don't know" so, I called the fire department. They told me that the smoke detectors were super sensitive and since the building was built prior to 1980 that they did not have to have sprinklers. Since they are too cheap to install sprinklers, they have super sensitive smoke detectors and they go off "several times a week, the fire department is out there all the time." That is a direct quote, people. There was a man smoking IN A SMOKING ROOM, and it caused the smoke detector went off. Stay there if you want to, but I never will again.
For places like this one star is too many, we really need a negative star rating category.
