My wife booked us a room for a one night getaway. The starting price was $169.00, By the time all was said and done It was right at $200. I also was hit for the $9.95 Fee referred to as a revenue fee. This was supose to be for internet, room safe etc. By the way my room safe was missing. Pictures on the wall were also missng. All in all a huge dissapointment. Had the rate been $69 I prb would have been almost happy....

Booked an $85 AAA rate for 12/12/07. I checked in at 10:30 p.m. and the clerk told me I was one of eleven guests that night. The next morning, my bill included a $9.95 charge for "Room Revenue." I asked the desk clerk and she informed we that every guest was charged that amount for "internet, room safe, USA Today." When I told her that I used none of those she said she could not remove the charge. At least they were honest by calling it "Room Revenue," but guests should not have to subsidize the hotel during their slow season. I booked through the Sheraton website, so I see that charge as a "Bait and Switch."

Very basic...comfortable bed, great staff and location for visiting the Seafood Festival. The room I stayed in had a carpet stain, missing pictures on the wall, bathroom toilet bowl un caulked, coffee creamers and sugar packets dried out. At a rate of 150+ not much of a bargain.

I would stay again only if other hotels were unavailable

Tried to get a room in the area so I could attend the NC Seafood Festival. I read the reviews of the Sheraton and they just were not good. However, after 2 hrs online and on the phone trying unsuccessfuly to secure a room, I really didn't have much choice and called the Sheraton directly after seeing availability online. I decided it couldn't be totally unbearable for just a one night stay. It turned out to be one of the best places I've stayed at in a long time. Just a quick highlight of what was nice: the inside pool, the long hotel boardwalk over the Atlantic, fantastic rooms with very comfy beds, the beach (soooo convenient, right there at the hotel), beautiful view from the room's balcony, beach bar open late, refrigerators in the rooms, teens walked across the street late to go to Dairy Queen, hotel was very convenient to the NC Seafood Festival (less than 15 minutes to Morehead City). Now the downside, the breakfast buffet wasn't very good, the price per room was a bit high and then the hotel tacked on an additional RESORT FEE to cover wi-fi and phone use (ridiculous when so many hotels now offer free local calls and free wi-fi), Would I stay at the Sheraton again? Absolutely! For me, the positives outweighed the negatives.
