We have stayed at the Atlantis several times over the past year; however, we will never return. We were treated as what I consider "criminal" and were found guilty without doubt. The owners charged into our room, and were very rude, arrogant, discourteous and took the word of one person over 4 professional people. We were charged with our animals barking, which I have no problem with, IF they were. But the gentleman next to us told us that they had barked all the day before, etc. and we were not even there on the day in question.

So, if you are going there, I hope your dog never barks, you never question another guest's remarks and you are ready to be insulted and treated like a common criminal.

I'm still angry and appalled at the way we were treated. We left the facility and as I said before we will never go back.

If you go, get a muzzle for your pet and yourself!

It's wonderful to have found a little piece of heaven right here in North Carolina. Eventhough Atlantic Beach is just a hop, skip and jump down the road from where we live in New Bern we still come back time and again to stay at the Atlantis.

On our last trip we had my parents with us who were visiting from California. They fell completely in love with Atlantis' quiet charm and scenic beauty. My mom kept exclaiming what a wonderful time she was having and has promised to come back next spring for another visit.

The staff and owners of the Atlantis are all terrific people. They have a way of making you feel like part of a family. Everyone from the maids to the office staff are very considerate and really have a strong focus on guest happiness.

The rooms are very clean and most have terrific views of the beach. Each of the rooms have their own little decore touches that make them different from each other and this adds to the homey feeling the Atlantis has. These are not fancy flashy Vegas style rooms ( thank goodness) but they are perfect for a nice peacful beach getaway.

It's wonderful to simply sit on the balcony and watch the multitudes of birds in the trees or the dolphins as they cruise up and down the coast feeding. Having the beach at such easy reach with the staff there to help you set up a chair or umbrella free of charge is fantastic.

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway that doesn't require you to carry your passport then the Atlantis is definately the place for you.

What a nice surprise when I opened our door! The view from our room and balcony was stunning! The turquoise ocean , sandy beach, and green courtyard full of plants and birds took my breath away. The room was clean and comfortable. My only concerns were the old-fashioned keys that could be a security concern and the window air conditioner right next to the bed. But even these "old-fashioned" things were part of the charm of this great place. They even have lounge chairs and umbrellas for the beach.

We found the Atlantis almost nine years ago and we go every year, even if we have another vacation planned. The Atlantis is charming, quiet, and comfotable. We took our lab every year with us unitl her death and every year she was thrilled to hop in the car and go -we were so thankful to find a hotel that allows pets. And even though our dog has passed away we still chose the Atlantis to stay. We love the fact that beach chairs and umbrellas are available for use without a charge and the pool is the best. It is nice to have a shaded area of the pool and our chidlren love the waterfall. We hope the Atlantis stays for many years and does not sell out for private homes. We leave again in four days for a week of stay-can't wait....
