“Great views- old but charming- needs internet service badly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful view of ocean. Nice grounds with lots of bird watching thanks to the bird feeders. Nice flowers. Small but fun pool. They advertise internet; but dont really have it. They say they are going to upgrade. I had planned on doing computer work in the evenings but could not. They do have a nice game room with ping pong and pool. Refrig, toaster, and burners in room helped us save money by eating some meals in. I would return if wireless internet worked.

I am so sorry that the internet did not want to work during your visit. It is important to us as well that it is working and that it is accessible for our guests to use. We have worked on it since and it has gotten better. Thank you for your comments and hopefully we will see you again!

In June 2013 my husband and I stayed at the Atlantis Lodge with our Toy Fox Terrier, Charlie (51/2 pounds). This property is an older one (has been around for many years) but is immaculately clean and well maintained. The grounds are lush green grass and have ample room for pups "to do their business". Guests are helped in the necessary clean up by numerous available scoops in case you forget your "poop bag". Since Charlie does not "play well with others", it was good to have a choice of areas to walk him - we could avoid other dogs (I am afraid Charlie did not even appreciate the 2 beautiful Afghan hounds who elegantly paraded around!). The front desk people are friendly and accessible. Water bowls are situated conveniently for pets outside and there is even a tub for rinsing off sand from dogs returning from the beach. There is management tolerance for dogs' natural actions (like greeting barking), but they will intervene if a dog barks so much it is disturbing to other guests - so you don't have to fear dog guests even if you are so unfortunate to have to come to a great beach without your "best friend" (the canine one, of course). Give this place a try - with or without your pet.

Room Tip: Our room (351) had a great view of the ocean and I could sit on the couch and watch the waves and pe...

I believe I remember Charlie! The area is laid out in a way that everyone, including our furry friends, can have a bit of space to themselves. Thank you for bringing your best friend with you and hopefully we will see you all in the future!

My wife and I stayed in 324 earlier this week. The staff is incredible. I thought Lizzy was awesome at check in. Kate really stands out as a beach attendant with her attitude and willingness to help. The GM Donna was a pleasure to deal with. We loved the view from the 3rd floor, it was incredible. The beach chairs and umbrellas provided were an awesome touch. The beach around the resort is great and expansive. One minor area that might want to be considered in the off season is to replace the carpet with ceramic tile. With a pet friendly place right by the beach it might be a good fit. Although the lodge is older, it was clean and felt like a home away from home. We hated to leave and felt very comfortable and relaxed in the Forrest/beach environment. Loved watching the birds come by and use the feeders. Thanks to Atlantis Lodge for enhancing our mini-vacation!

We were there in April 2013 and had a very good stay, so we went back again last week. My daughter, two granddaughters and I had a wonderful 4-day stay at Atlantis. This trip we had a room with a small kitchen which was great with the girls. We fixed breakfast and then went down to the beach and back up for lunch then back to the beach and finished our day in the sun at the pool. Everything was great! The rooms and service are very good. We only had two complaints. One of them being that the fold out sofa sleeper really needs a new mattress. My daughter, whom is very small, said it was terribly uncomfortable with a hole in it. Our other complaint was we took an early beach walk before leaving on Saturday around noon. Although the hotel does not allow smoking, the beach was strewed with cigarettes butts all over. Very disgusting. Why not put out an area where the smokers can dispose of their nasty cigarette butts? Otherwise, the stay was great!

Thank you so much for the comments! We do like to be informed of the things that we can work on so that you and your family can have a more relaxed stay! We do have a strict smoking policy while on the property, but the beach is available for people to smoke on. Also, we will be more alert to cigarette butts that are on the beach!

A nice place right in front of a reallz great beach. And the hotel offers a good service with beach chairs and umbrellas, so it is a great place to really enjoy the beach.
But the place is first choice for dog- owners- if you come by with your pet, you will be very welcome. everything is made up for dogs.
If you need a stable Internet cenexion, you cannot stay in Atlantis. No service in rooms and only sometimes a posibilty to connetct from the main area.

The beaches here are well kept and maintained and it helps out the wildlife. Internet connection is definitely a must and that is why we have worked very hard to build it back up. Thank you for your comments and we look forward to having you back!

We have just returned for our week at the Atlantis Lodge. This is our fourth year there and we always know we will have a great time. Our two grandkids say this is the "BEST". the rooms are comfortable and clean, staff is wonderful. If you want to be busy there is plenty to do there. If you want to sit and relax, the beach chairs and umbrellas are provided for you! Surf fishing is at your finger tips!
As far as we are concerned, there is no place better than Atlantis Lodge for fun.

Room Tip: We always stay on the second floor. You get a great view of the ocean. Ground level has a patio that...

Love the review title! We love that the kids think this place is the "BEST"! This is a great place to go kayaking, fishing, lounging on the beach, or swimming in the pool. We will see you next year!

This is an older family-owned hotel that has withstood the storms while a famous hotel chain down the road is closed. The room was clean and tidy. The service warm and friendly. The older light fixtures didn't bother me. In fact, I liked them because it reminded me of happier days when my kids were small. My daughter and pets were with me. She totally enjoyed the bird sanctuary setting in the center outside the balconies that all face the ocean. The birds constantly put on a great show. Got some great videos and pictures. Ideal for avid bird watchers. It was enjoyable getting photos of folks with their dogs. Sort of like Norman Rockwell shots of an elderly gentleman reading while his trusty big dog laid at his feet. No elevators here, but you get your exercise. Great view on the 3rd floor where the recreation rooms are. Great pool table and games available. Pool in a nice treed setting in the front. Ideal for nature lovers. I plan to visit the shore with my dogs off season again. Absolutely loved my stay.

The birds here are like our pets as well. You probably saw bird feeders all over the lot and several bird houses! What can we say? Birds are beautiful to us! Thank you for your lovely comments!
