Every trip to the Atlantis just gets better. The staff is always helpful and really friendly. The views are unmatched; the rooms are so clean and pleasant; the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The beach and access are perfect, complete with complimentary chairs and umbrellas. It's hard to improve, but the owners have managed to do so by upgrading to new comfy queen beds and flat screen TVs. Nice! To our dismay, we had to head home a bit early, but God willing, we'll return next Oct. We completely enjoy the Atlantis, it's the best!

BTW, The Atlantis website provides an excellent/true representation of their property.

I grew up along the NJ shore and heard stories from my parents about their vacations as young children and how magical the beach and that time was to them. Personally, even growing up a couple miles from the ocean and a sea lover, I was never able to quite capture that same sense of magic... until staying at the Atlantis Lodge.

This is exactly the type of place I could picture my parents coming to as children and marvelling at the amazing crystal clear water and powder soft beaches. Our room (111) had an amazing and unique view of both the ocean and the incredible maritime forest environment. And the room was HUGE with incredibly comfortable beds, sofa, big kitchen and dining rooms and great bath. Yes, the decor is retro, but meticulously maintained, and my husband loved the flat screen TV.

The staff was also wonderfully accommodating. We had a few moments of panic when our magician of a cat (it was wonderful to be able to bring her to a hotel) made herself disappear in the room right before checkout, and the staff came and helped us hunt her down. I hope this will be the first of many trips to this wonderful resort. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

“"Our home away from home"”

Atlantis Lodge

Aug 17, 2008

This was our seventh year at the Atlantis Lodge. It is truely our "home away from home". Our room was very clean and the daily housekkping service we received from Sandra was outstanding. She was very wonderful with our pets Reggie and Oliver. The resort is well taken care of, family friendly and very peaceful and relaxing. It is a unique spot on the beach, we have made our reservations for August 2009.

“Excellent Vacation Getaway”

Atlantis Lodge

My 2 teenage sons, my mom and I stayed at your hotel. Very clean, very nice, very friendly. My sons enjoyed the "game room", we all enjoyed the beautiful pool and the beauty only God could create at the beach. It was the first time in over 25+ years that we have stayed at a hotel at the beach, just sold family owned place at Goose Creek. I went online to find a place on the beach and loved your website, this looked like a new and wonderful place to stay. We called and booked a room. When we arrived, the room was just like the website showed and stated. Perfect ! It was so great to wake up in the mornings after a good night sleep, go out on the poarch and watch the sunrise and listen to the ocean waves. I loved to watch the birds in the natural area behind our room, we even saw rabbits. They loved the bird seed that you provided. Our room was very spacious, two double beds, pullout sofa, two chairs, dinning area/kitchenette, large bathroom as well as a dressing area/closet. The dividers to separate the beds into rooms were great with two teenage boys. We all had room and privacy if and when needed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would and will recommend the Atlantis Lodge to family and friends and well as strangers. Thanks for your part in making a vacation wonderful.

Well, were back home after another week of great weather and fun in the Crystal Coast. Our family (2 boys aged 12 and 10) visited the Atlantis numerous time in the last 10 years and we were never disappointed by the location and staff.

Pine Knoll Shores is not Virginia Beach or Myrtle Beach. You will not find amusement park or boardwalk. What you will find is peace and quiet on a nice barrier island where the water temp. reaches the mid-80's and where the ocean breeze makes it comfortable (or you can cool down in the nice pool too). There are enough activities for young children to keep them occupied for a few days. The little town of Beaufort is worth a visit. Do not miss the tour of Shackleford Bank were you will see some very interesting horses up-close. The Civil War era Macon fort at the eastern end of the island is also worth a visit. At least 3 miniature golf are within a few minute drives from the Atlantis and a Food Lion is nearby.

The Lodge dates from the early 60’s and has a nice retro look with updated amenities. Everything was to our liking and we felt “at home” while we were there. We drove almost 17 hours to get to North-Carolina because we are sure to find the Lodge the same way we left it the last time and the water is just wonderful.

Merci beaucoup
