“You can't pay more, but you can get a lot better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We, (a party of 4 adults and 2 six year old twins) ate here on 28 June 13. Although this place is near the water, there is no view. It is small, but the prices are not. It is dated, about the late 60’s style, with no frills. We were seated immediately as we were the second party to arrive. The waitress was pleasant and took our orders soon after we arrived. And then the wait started. Another couple arrived after us and were seated next to us. They were half way through their meal and we were still waiting. When I asked what the holdup was, she said it takes a long time to cook the burgers we ordered (two of the adults had ordered burgers). The other orders were pork chop and shrimp and scallop grits. I will say the food was very good and the burgers were thick. The burgers were supposed to be done medium but they were well done, but still tasty. The prices were, I think way out of line for a place with little or no atmosphere or decoration. I mean, $ 18.00 for a burger and $ 11.00 for kids pasta with only butter
on it ??? Even at beach prices, this was a stretch. If it was a nice setting with a view I could understand. But this was neither. If you want to pay high prices for your food, go to some place with a little more to offer. I would not recommend this restaurant to friends.

“Don't judge a book by its cover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

This was our 3rd time here - all outstanding! We had reservations - but for the first time ever the place was not full on a Saturday night. When you drive up to the place - it looks like just another beach dive restauraunt..but wait til you try the food. It is small and tables are packed tight, but it has a certain charm - that overcomes this humble facility. The food is prepared and presented like a four star restaurant - with unusual pairings that just melt in your mouth and leave a lingering smile. They have an extensive wine and beer list - but we did not order any - since we had wine before we came.
We had wonderful crab dip apetiser. Our meals were shrimp scallops and grits, and the fresh catch - which was mahi-mahi with a spicy sweet relish. These were cooked perfect - and so tender and flavorful! with a shared desert and no drinks - we came in at $80 for 2. Not cheap - but worth it for special occasions. We will be back

“Worth trying, especially on Mon-Tues”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We heard and read a lot about this place. I'd have to say that they own each entree in their own unique way. We tried the filet and shrimp & scallop linguini. Super! Plus, the crab dip was great!!

“Met my expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

We made reservations and were seated immediately upon arriva on a Friday nightl. Three of us had the crab cakes and I had the duck confit strudel. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and a glass of pinot noir for my duck. We were given bread with oil and balsamic vinegar and that was nice. You had to order vegetables separately and were given a very small portion. Everyone loved the crab cakes and remarked how rich they were - the amount of food given for the 32.00 price seemed expensive. My duck was wonderful and is a great bargain at 20.00 The wine was okay- Lioco Chardonnay. Our service was very nice.

“Food is great....hostess needs work”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

The food is phenomenal! We went twice while on vacation. On Mondays andTuesdays, they have a BOGO free but it is limited to the items posted inside on a chalkboard which makes the prices a little more palatable. Shrimp, scallops, crab cake, and filet were absolutely mouthwatering!

The restaurant is very small and is not a good choice for families with small children. They have a bar but it appears to be used a lot for extra seating instead of just having a drink while waiting on a table.

The 1st trip the hostess was friendly, but on our 2nd trip she didn't smile and was downright rude to some wannabe patrons. She asked if they had reservations, and when they said they didn't she simply said that she was sorry but she didn't have anything. No mention of did they want to wait, when would be a good time to come back, nothing, and especially no smile or attitude that she wanted them to come back. On this trip it seemed she felt as if she was doing us a favor by letting us eat there.

I would still go back there and eat again and highly recommend it for the food.
