The rates were not what I was quoted. The picture on the internet is not what you are getting! I don't know what room they showed, but no room I saw looked like that. They tell you they don't do room service everyday, what they meant was they do room service after you leave. They were the cheapest place to stay, until you tell them you will have an extra person, then the price is just as much as everybody else. These rooms are for people working construction that have to stay there all week. And one more thing, the commode drove me crazy. It ran all the time and apparently it was supposed to. I can't see myself staying here again.

I am sorry that this person had a problem with their stay at The Sand Dollar. We try our very best to make all our guest comfortable and have a nice vacation.
The picture on the internet is Room 1, we have several different rooms sizes and layouts and can not put them all on the internet. When a person make reservations they are ask how may people and how may children over 12yrs. My rates on the internet are based on 2 people and this is state on the internet. If this people was quoted a rate and arrived with more people then yes they will pay for the extra people. This is a small family owned motel. We do not have a full staff of maids. I do not go in a make beds and clean rooms everyday. Guest do get clean towels and if they need me to go in and clean all they have to do is ask and we are happy to do what they need. They are told this at time of check in. If this person had told us about the toilet we would have been glad to fix it. I do not like paying for extra water because of a toilet running. I do not know why this person thought that the toilet was suppose to run all the time. My rates are in line with the other small motels at this beach and this is one of the very few family motels left here. I am not a Sheraton and do not charge what they charge. If you want full service go to the bigger motel and pay the price. My motel is well maintain and I have a 99% health rating. We are a family motel. I have may guest that come back year after year. We go out of our way to make our guest fill comfortable and welcome. If anyone has a problem we always try to work with them. People must understand we can only put so many people in a room and they must be honest with us when checking in and tell us how many people they have. It cost more in linens, water etc. Again we are a sorry that this person had a bad experince.
