My husband and I celebrated our tenth anniversary during the Seafood Festival (first weekend of October). Upon reading good reviews of the SDMotel, we booked a 2 night stay. We really enjoyed the motel, loved talking with the owners and getting their advice on the area.
We ate at Four Corners Diner which was delicious! We had a relaxing day at the Festival and tried some fantastic She Crab soup at Sharky's.
3 great reasons for staying at the motel;
*Checkout is at 11am instead of the usual 10am. We were able to have breakfast, a solid hour on the beach and back to the room for showers before checkout. Can't beat that!
*Internet Access - big plus for my husband and his work.
*No one bothers you every morning with knock-knock "housekeeping!", unless you ask. I could leave my valuables in the room and no-one was coming in to disturb them.
This is an older motel, no fancy bells and whistles, but the owners provide everything you need - equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, efficient a/c, all the towels you need and a relaxed attitude.
