“Simple Restaurant With Pretty Tasty Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

We tried Bistro 42 on a trip to High Point market. The venue is simple, family style restaurant. A surf and turf was well prepared cooked medium rare as ordered and served with a well seasoned mashed potato. The shrimp and grits dish was spicy with chili powder and a chorizo sausage. Very good!

Overall, I'd go back. The place had a nice crowd and a good energy too.

“Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

My wife and I visited at 9:45 on a Friday evening and asked if they were still serving. Seated, provided water and a menu. Waited 15 min. No one approached our table. Two other tables occupied in the dining area and few people in the bar area. One server had a conversation with a table the entire time we were there. Walked out.

“Great Nouveau Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Fun little restaurant in the corner of a strip mall. Had been here before a couple of years ago and remembered it was good.

My husband and I sat at the bar and split the seared tuna appetizer and the brined chicken over mashed potatoes with a corn and vegetable combination on top. The chicken was moist and delicious and the flavors were great. The tuna was nice and fresh and delicious as well. They mention a split charge on the menu, but did not charge us, which I believe is the way it should be if you are spending money on drinks, and they don't actually bring you anything extra, other than a plate.

The guy next to us had a pizza that looked great!

A little goofy with the readiness of the restaurant at 7 o'clock on a Saturday night when several of the staff were underneath the bar putting drainage pipes back together!

Will go back, for sure!

“Our weekly date night spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Fresh, local fare, seasonally changed menus, great wine list, friendly staff. We like to eat on the patio when the weather permits. It's inviting, not stuffy. Lot's of fun!

“Our weekly date night spot”

Great food, with a seasonly updated menu. The chef uses local fare as often as possible, and the wine list is the best in town (Unless you're sitting on the deck at the Lumina!)

Fresh!
