“Not a bad place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We had a one bedroom suite with living area separate from the bedroom. It had two full bathrooms, which was great for kids on pull out sleeper sofa. We weren't expecting that. The room had a small refrigerator, microwave, large counter area with sink and coffee pot along with two TV's. The room was fairly clean for our high standards although like some others stated, some stains on carpets. No bb's, thank goodness or any other bugs for that matter. The hotel really should clean better under the beds and by the headboards--maybe rotate which rooms they give a thorough cleaning to--but that's just a suggestion to make it even better and cleaner. The pool was warm and a nice area. The road noise was about the worst part along with the pillows. Try to get an odd numbered room so you're on the opposite side of I-26. Unfortunately, we had an even numbered room. Breakfast was good for a place like this with make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, egg patties & sausage to make your own egg mcmuffin, along with cereal, juices, and several other things. Not a bad price for all that you get and close enough to the Biltmore and other attractions.

Room Tip: Try to get an odd numbered room to avoid the road noise from I-26.

Even though the decor and furniture were a little dated, we found this hotel to be a good deal for the price. It is located across the street from great shopping and the Regal Biltmore Grande Stadium 15 Theater. Jamee at the front desk could not have been any more pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet. If you are looking for modern updated rooms this isn't for you, but if you want a clean, comfortable, quiet stay and don't mind slightly dated furnishings I would highly recommend this hotel.

Considering some of the Asheville hotel prices, this is not a bad option, but also not great. Fairly convenient to Asheville, though in a slightly sketchy looking location next to an out of service gas station. Stayed in a suite room, which was plenty of space for 3 people. Had a couch, dining table, king bed, desk, and 2 bathrooms, though they were tiny. It is really in need of updates though. Oldest looking rooms i've seen in some time actually. Also dresser and lights were dusty.

Breakfast was standard, nothing special and not of ton of options. Breakfast room was always swamped when we were there and lots of kids running around. Also, the tables by the door were very chilly to sit at since it was cold outside and door was often open.

Staff was ok. Asked for directions once and not extremely helpful and we ended up getting lost. Also, when we arrived, which was after the normal check in time, room was not ready and we had to drive around waiting for our room to be prepared. This lasted for quite awhile and we had to keep checking back with hotel to see when it was ready. Kind of a pain.

As for restaurants, there is a greek restuarant down the street that was fun and enjoyable. There are other options as well as grocery stores nearby.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Location is OK, and only 15 minutes from Biltmore and Asheville. Good selection of restaurants within 2-3 miles.
Breakfast was typical Choice fare with the usual mystery frozen "egg-paties" (boy, I wish they would lose those things. Seems like every Choice hotel uses them. They really are tasteless). I had previously used this QI, and I now remember why I was disappointed the last time:
Firstly, this hotel needs a refresh. It's just over-worn. Carpet appears soiled in places and bath fixtures are showing their age. Biggest disappointment is lack of a flat-screen TV and HD cable feed. C'mon, it's 2012 fercrissakes. Bite the bullet, folks, and make the upgrade.
Fitness room is basically OK, but has only one treadmill. Seems that getting to the fitness room early would be the thing to do, right? So I'm there promptly at 6:00 AM like the sign says. Well, the guy at the front desk tells me it's CLOSED until 7:00 AM when the maintenence guy is scheduled to arrive. Luckily, I got the front desk clerk to open the door to the fitness area at about 6:15 after waiting for him to shoot the breeze with a departing patron for about 10 minutes while I cooled my heels waiting for my turn to speak with him.
The lack of attention to cleanliness and over-all condition is an indication to me that the owners/managers are sacrificing customer satisfaction in order to maximize profits. This is beginning to become a noticable trend with some Choice hotels, particilarly Comfort In brands.
Also, they have raised their rates about 10% since earlier in 2012. And they jack it up again on the weekend because of Biltmore at Christmas.
Probably won't use this Choice hotel again, as there are alternatives which are better maintained in the area.

Room Tip: This hotel backs up to I-26 interstate hwy. Large 18-wheeler trucks make a heck of a noise all nigh...

This hotel is great for the budget minded. Pluses: ample parking, clean rooms, and the kids enjoyed the pool. Basic breakfast included.
Negatives: our beds were so hard, it felt like sleeping on an ironing board. Also noted there are only 2 comfortable chairs in the lobby, none in the room (just a desk chair).

Room Tip: If the sounds of the highway will keep you up, ask for a room on the east side.

The room was very gross. Carpet was wrinkled up and the smell......old cigarette smoke covered with scented room spray. Bathroom smelled of urine. Had to clean the nightstand, don't even want to guess what the white sticky stuff was on top of the nightstand. Noisy and just not good. This place needs to be updated or torn down!

We rated here for one night and were definitely pleased with our stay.

Location: right off 26 about 15-20 min south of downtown Asheville headed toward Hendersonville. Probably 30-45 min drive to some of the parks, hiking, etc. Approx 10 min to Farmers market, Arboretum.

Service: The front desk staff were friendly and pleasant

Room: Older TV, A/C worked great, beds were on the firm side and you could hear/feel the springs, shower had good water pressure and consistent hot water, very quiet room, Wifi worked great and was easy to connect

Breakfast: choice of waffles, sausage or egg (round mcmuffin style), fruit loops, coffee, juice, fruit, oatmeal, pastries, bread, English muffins

Overall a great stay for our money (we booked through a Priceline express deal)
