“Charming hotel, right on the beach.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

For what you pay this is a great hotel. It is set right on the beach and you can have dinner or breakfast in the most beautiful location with a view that you would pay a huge amount for anywhere else in the world. The rooms are basic with very small bathrooms but the ones with a sea view are delightful. The pool is relaxing and the bar area is fun and welcoming - the staff always serve you with a smile. The town of Turgutreis is a 20 minute walk away and there are some great bars and restaurants to choose from. The are loads of activities in the area including windsurfing and sailing if you walk in a northerly direction up the beach. We would definitely go back and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a value for money, relaxing break.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room.

We booked this hotel for the location and pool. Having traveled and stayed at similar style hotels in the Bodrum/Turgutreis area - we had an idea of the accommodations we would have. Beautiful view of the water from "water view" rooms. The bathroom/room we were given was very small (we had booked it for 3 people) - basically a double bed and a roll-away which only left a small path in/out of the room. The bathroom was very small - the shower did not drain properly and overflowed. We purchased air conditioning which did not work the 1st night. I was not impressed with the management of the hotel. They were unresponsive to our numerous requests to fix the problems with our room (including out stained mattress that had springs popping out). The pool staff was most helpful and cared for our needs. For a small, family owned property (the owners were present at the time we were there) - I expected better service. We won't return to that property.

I'm reviewing quite late, so apologies, I thought I had already posted my review!
We stayed here in early August 2011. We got a very reasonable deal with Thomas Cook.

Lets start straight out by saying, this is a 2 star hotel in all sense of the word. Do not expect more than that. Also remember in many countries the star rating is based upon facilities available, and not necessarily the luxury of the surroundings!

Pros - right on the beach. Allbeit a small beach, it is still really convenient
Nice, good sized pool.
Rooms clean, sheets and towels clean
Hot water until late at night
Good sized balcony on the road facing rooms, smaller balcony on pool side, but with amazing views
Quiet end of town, so no late night noise, but walking distance to the centre.
The beach is around a small shallow bay, which stays waist high for ages, so quite safe for young kids and nervous swimmers.
Nice shaded area at the pool with day beds and chairs if you want to get out of the sun
Great sun deck overlooking the sea.
Staff are nice, except for the reception guy who was a bit sullen and not very forthcoming with help or assistance!
The food (other than breakfast) is not bad, tasty snacks and meals and quite reasonable.

Cons - rooms are small. When we were there the shower was not really appealling as they had painted the shower tray in a black waterproof paint! So it didn't look great. But it did the job. I believe now the bathrooms have been upgraded - not sure if that is the case.
The fixtures and fittings are quite tired and shabby.
Several of the sun loungers are broken.
The beach is not cleaned so if people are smoking and leaving rubbish it gets left there. Personally I think regardless of whether it is a public or private beach, people should clean up after themselves, but nonetheless when other guests left a mess no one cleaned it up.
The breakfast is not taken care of very well - I have no issue with the food served - this is traditional Turkish breakfast, if you want a full english go elsewhere. My only problem was that it was not put out in a cooler or anything and it got warm very quickly and flies were everywhere. The breakfast was traditional Turkish breakfast items of tomato, cucumber, olives, white cheese, bread, jam & honey, hard boiled eggs, watermelon.
I do have to say however that the tea is awful - and I say that as a drinker of Turkish tea. So its not just because it was not your normal breakfast blend! even the Turks don't drink it because it is made and left to sit for hours, which makes it very bitter and yukky. So bring your own tea bags and mugs.

I loved Turgutreis and would go back again. This hotel was fine. Not great not awful, fine. All we did was sleep there anyway. The best thing about it was that it was on the beach. You do need to be up early to get a spot, but even if you don't and hang out at the pool you are literally 2 mins walk into the sea! I loved the convenience of not needing to bring all sorts to the beach and travel to get there - just up in the morning and straight out to the sea!

I suppose what makes it seem shabby is when you walk up the road and two of the most amazing hotels in Turgutreis are right next to you. But the La Blanch would make many hotels seem rough!

Would I stay here again? yes I would, if I got it at the same price.

If you want 5 star luxury, go to La Blanch. And pay for it.
If you want sun, sea, pool and low budget, this hotel is great.
If you are used to Greece/Turkey etc, and don't expect more than a small but clean room, and are prepared to have a wet floor in the bathroom then you know what you are getting here.

€12-15 or £10-12.50 per night? what do you expect???

the cemre hotel is a small and frendly hotel, the rooms are small but clean the food was very good. but most of all the boys at the bar made our holidy. the view from our pool side room was stunning, also the pool was clean and tidy. all in all we had a great time.

Room Tip: if you can get a pool side room you will have the best view.

I have stayed at this hotel before, four years ago.Since then, its does'nt appear to have had any refurbishment done. Its,tired and shabby. As for getting into the shower cubicle,i had to "shimmy" in and out.Im a size 18,anyone bigger would definatley not be able to get in.The bedding and towels were changed regularly, but the room was only cleaned once in the week we were there. The owners appear to be just treading water untill they can sell. One afternoon several of us were sleeping on our sunbeds, the lady owner, decided to wash down the patio area.We were left with wet belongings, surrounded by the staff swilling and scrubbing. She seem totally oblivious to her guests,or simply didnt care.On the upside, the staff are brilliant, they work long hours, for very little pay but they made our holiday.A big thank you to all of them.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view,i emailed the hotel 6 wks before i travelled, with my request, and they...

I dont agree with the negative reviews. The rooms are basic but it is just a 2 star hotel. What does people expect? Paying 2 stars price and having 5 stars luxury?

The room which we stayed was clean. Sheets were changed every 3 days. Towels were changed every 2 days. We had hot water everyday. The food in the hotel is cheap and delicious. The staff and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has fantastic location. It is right on the beach and also has small but clean pool. Close to town. 10 minutes by walk. It has wonderful sunset.

If you want a low price holiday, Cemre is perfect for you!
