Quite simply MIO Bianco does a disservice to Turkey, Thomas Cook and all inclusive hotels. Where to start...
This is the hospitality industry, someone should tell the reception staff. They are miserable do not even acknowledge you as you walk in or out. On one occasion we went to ask a question and they were on the phone to a friend and they ignored us finally speaking to us in between the conversation going off on the phone.
Well pretty much the same as reception you felt bad asking for a drink because the staff weren't friendly nor did they want to serve you.
Also this was all inclusive soft drinks, beer, wine, gin, vodka and raki were the only drinks on offer, no cocktails or anything else. Drinks were also served in thin disposable cups the size of thimble if you squeezed it even slightly it spilled everywhere.
6 hot containers of food. Meatballs, Chicken, Stale Dry Fish full of bones and Stew were the choices. The other two had potatoes, rice or veg. This is definitely not a place for a vegetarian to eat.
I said hot containers well this is a lie warm. And yes lots of people were ill. Luckily as a veteran of all inclusive I didn't touch most of the meat. In fact we often ate out because the food was so bad.
Also there is no waiter service so you have to get your own drinks from the bar and go get them refilled yourself of course this can mean when you return the waiter (in the loosest meaning of the term) has taken your meal away.
That's a joke we were there for 14 days and the first 2 days had entertainment then the last 2 days but this was only because the owner had some friends and family come stay so some was laid on to impress them. The main entertainment was watching the one single entertainment guy (as there was no one else) work his magic to pull the ladies and bet on who his next conquest would be. Or to moan and laugh at about the hotel, the food and the staff.
We came away after schools had returned to avoid kids. Our first trip to the beach which looks like it's over the road ha, they got us again. The hotel beach is up a ruddy big hill and down again to the beach. Worse than this there's a school on the beach and in turkey the kids get a break every hour. So given the beach was only narrow you couldn't escape the children's noise.
While taking about the beach I should mention on the decking is a bar...soft drinks only (In the thin little cups) as part of the all inclusive so if you want alcohol at the beach it's 10TL. No food or snacks at the beach bar.
Well this is the only good bit, they were clean and tidy and came with a flat screen telly with movies. The only tip we gave in the hotel was to the maid because she was the only one who did a good job. However they are the hardest beds I've ever slept on and one point I did wonder if the tiled floor would be softer.
Do not let this hotel put you off Turkey this hotel is just an insult to package holidays and should be avoided at all costs. You have to remember it's 4 star lol 2 at best and cost £1400 for the 2 of us which is the going rate so it wasn't we got a cheap hotel. We paid a fair price and were ripped off. The Bodrum area is great, offering a fantastic base for trips to see the ancient world that Turkey houses. The weather is great the people outside of the hotel were great. How the manager hired so many wasters I'll never know.
Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!
