“fantastic holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

My husband and myself went to the kefaluka on 27th. september 2012 for two weeks. The hotel is wonderful, cleaned all day in public areas and all night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. the food was plentiful and tasty. Our room was a standard room with a super kingsize bed and a great view, we were on the 8th. floor. The only complaint I have is that it was my husbands 60th birthday on 2nd. october and I e-mailed the hotel a few weeks before we arrived to ask if we could be upgraded to a villa, and I was told yes, but I would have to pay £400 per. night which I refused because I could not afford it, I was prepared to pay but not that amount. After talking to guests in the hotel I was informed that a few of them had been upgraded free of charge, and for no special reason, to a villa and some to a suite. Apart from that we had a great holiday and would advise anyone to go.

Room Tip: Higher floors better view and less noise.

My partner and I stayed at the Kefaluka Resort from 4th-11th October. Having read previous negative reviews I was a little bit hesitant about the holiday but went in with an open mind... and I can safely say I had a brilliant time. Room was a standard seaview with double bed, Large room with lots of space, never felt too cramped and cleaned daily, even when we had a lie in till 11am, we left our room at midday assuming we had missed the cleaning rounds but returned that evening to a beautiful clean room as usual. Our holiday being out of season meant the hotel was not too busy, sunbeds were always avaliable, staff were generally very friendly, cheerful and always willing to help. Yes the food can get a little bit repetative and the seasoning on the meats tends to make everything taste the same, yes there are alot of veal options and yes sometimes you can get overlooked in regards to drinks servings BUT this is not always due to the waiters/waitresses being un attentive... as the resturant has a seat yourself policy the staff would have to constantly be scanning where new customers sat themselves which is not possible. Having said this, in 7days of 3 meals a day in the resturant we were only overlooked once and as soon as we caught the waitresses attention we were served immediately. Also as a fussy eater even I managed to find something to suit my tastes every evening and never found myself feeling hungry at all the entire holiday.

My advice - grab a couple of sunbeds out on the pier, no matter how hot it gets you always have a cooling breeze and cold bottles of water/beer to hand (the bartender even used to walk round handing out bottles of cold water to the sunbathers making sure everyone kept hydrated and happy)
- If you're not keen on the lunch/dinner options make sure you get involved with the snacks! (jacket potatoes, chicken kebab sandwiches, fresh waffles etc) these are offered as an alternative to lunch and as an early evening (2:30 -5pm) snacks.
- Make the most of the ice cream stand!
- Also take a boat trip! We were on a package holiday with 'Thomson' and booked the adults only 'Chill out cruise' - Highly recomend! (also came with a free turkish bath... now that was certainly an experience!)

All in all we had a great holiday, sitting at work currently on my first day back wishing I'd gone for 10days/2weeks instead of just the 1week!

Highly reccomend.

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor of the hotel. Room 8210, first night heard the loud music from the op...

Hotel overall was great

Bad points !!

Smokers are allowed everywhere even in restaurants and entertainment area in the amperthetre where it was crowded smokers had to respect to others even little children

Next drinks where hit and miss you have to be loud and gobby to be served the best sometimes was really good .

Far from places but has some excursions

Good points !!

Clean everywhere

great food and drinks
comfy loungers

Loads of space land for just hotel users so it was never busy

Jeti

Overall it was a lovely hotel .

Second year in a row of holidaying at Kefaluka and was absolutely superb. This hotel really does have everything you need. My husband and I went last year and enjoyed it so much we took a family party of 12 this year and it certainly lived up to its expectations and did not disappoint. Perfect hotel for couples or families alile and plenty to do. You do not need to leave resort or spend a penny. Staff very good and helpful and restaurants are amazing. The choice each day in the main restaurant is out of this world and to such a high standard. Entertainment day and night excellent. Decoration in hotel and rooms to such a high level. Such a well laid out hotel and you are not pestered to have spa treatments as you can be in some hotels. We will definately be going back. Love this hotel so much and cannot praise it high enough. Well done Kefaluka.

Stayed 17 Sept to 1 st Oct. Early flight out of Gatwick recommend staying at Sofitel and parking
car there for two weeks. Checked in baggage night before went straight to departures.
Problems at Milas Bodrum airport with their Visa system. 4 flights only 5 desks available.
Whilst the transfer from Milas Bodrum airport becomes very bumpy once you have left Gumbet
the resort is very spectacular. The reception and lobby area is outstanding and is definitely in
the 5 star category as is the entire complex.
The rooms were excellent with all the usual items including hairdryers, mini bar (replenished daily) flat screen tv with multi language selections, room safe very easy to operate ( select a 4 digit code shut the door and push the hash key to lock. put in same code and door opens) 2 dressing gowns and slippers. A chair in the room and 2 chairs and a small table on the balcony.Although the bed is a bit hard I found it quite comfortable to sleep on.
As the main reception is situated at road level they regard that as the ground/lobby level we
stayed in room 8105 which is on floor 2 above lobby consequently all floors below lobby are
basement floors. The lobby bar being on B1 also rooms in 5000 series.B2 rooms 4000 series
B3 3000 series B4 2000 series B5 1100/1200 series also game center inc Tv lounge Cinema
bowling shooting range disco library. B6 Kefalonya main restaurant and B7 the pool areas
bars, a la carte restaurants, snack bars gardens and access to beach area.
We had no problem finding sun loungers probably as it is coming up to the end of the season.
There was also plenty of space on the beach and the pier which had its own bar.
We primarily used the Kefalonya main restaurant where we found ample choices of varying
good quality food. Most nights there was a barbequed selection on the outside patio area.
Our only gripe was an inconsistant waiter service they periodically went into a clearance
mentality and abandoned giving guests drinks.
We used the Zuzu snack bar for lunch and although a small selection it was freshly cooked
service was first rate.
Pool bar was quite well run however they did not check on who was due to be served next.
The Lobby bar on level B1 is very large has an indoor and out door area. Service is by waiter
service as they prefer you keep the bar area clear. Can be slap dash occasionally you can
order and wait 20 minutes or again only 3 minutes. These delays are caused at the bar by
the barmen pouring the drinks as the waiters are constantly either taking out orders clearing
tables and taking other orders before delivering yours. As was mentioned before be
patient you are on holiday and if you think about it re order before your current drinks are
finished.
The entertainments are as expected during the day and they have there own outside theatre
where they have some good shows.
The a la carte restaurants due to the lateness of the season were all in the Italian but
dependant on which one you had booked you got a different coloured table cloth.
There were two discos one outdoors on the end of the agora overlooking the beach and one
indoors on level B5. Moonlight club from 2230 - 0100 and the disco midnight - 0300. A la
carte restaurants during the season are a mexican ( nice if you like spicy food ) a Turkish, a
Fish and an Italian. I did enjoy the mexican.
Over all this was a very relaxing chill out location.
Did a chill out cruise all inclusive with drinks great day out. Visited Kos island 14 minutes
away by hydrafoil from Turgetreis town next resort from Akyarlar. Not only could I see Kos
town from our hotel but you can see our hotel clearly from Kos castle/harbour.
If you dont mind the transfer problems this is a great place to come, once your here your
problems fade away.Flew out Thomson Airways, rep at hotel Rebekkah was excellent.

We have just spent 10 brilliant days at the Kefaluka, from the 24th sept to the 4th oct. This was our third visit in the last twelve months and was equally as good as the first two.Everything about the hotel is excellent - the location, the staff ,cleanliness, food, drinks - an absolutely wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: Always specify a sea view.

We visited this hotel with a large group of young people and we really had a good time. The hotel is huge and so clean! The views are spectacular and the people of the animation team are so helpful and nice! Loved the football cage and the pool. We had a nice ride on the jetski and a nice visit to Bodrum ( 30 minutes with local taxi).
