“Family Holiday”

Isil Club Bodrum

Jun 2, 2008

We have just returned from an excellent family holiday , 17 of us in total age range from 11yrs - 68yrs and every one of us had a fantastic experience. We found the hotel staff to be extremely courteous and friendly, the entertainment team were second to none and organised activities around the pool all day, there was no pressure to join in but very entertaining to watch. The food was absolutely delicious at every meal, we counted the deserts one lunchtime and there were 43 to choose from and all areas of the hotel were cleaned to a high standard at all times. We took a couple of trips into Bodrum and found the 10 minute Dolmus drive very comfortable and easily accessed from the front of the hotel. We had absolutely no problems getting sunbeds for our party in fact there were free beds at all times of the day, again in the restaurant we were provided with a table to seat 17 every evening this service could have been provided for all meal times but we sometimes ate at seperate times during the day. This was quite an expensive holiday for us but definitely worth every penny, in fact, apart from showing your gratitude to the excellent staff, you could happily not spend a penny once you arrive. If I search very hard to find fault it would be that Bacardi (or white rum of any sort ) is not included in the All Inclusive Option but I managed to get by on Vodka for a week.
The First Choice rep was non existent, she turned up for our welcome meeting 30 minutes late and gave very little information and while other notice boards were filled with information about places to go the First Choice board was empty, apart from return flight times, for the entirety of our stay. Having said that I hope that if the hotel do go to Thompsons next year they don't let the company spoil what is a fantastic holiday experience. I would not hesitate to reccommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely return myself. Finally the weather was georgous.

“Very nice hotel, perfect for relaxing!”

Isil Club Bodrum

My girlfriend (28) and I (27) stayed at the Isil Club Bodrum in mid May 08 for one week. We were looking for a week's worth of relaxing in a good quality 4 star hotel that wasn't situated in the middle of a busy town, not too noisy and yet next to the sea. This hotel met all of the above.

Check in / Staff:- We arrived at 3am so didn't expect to see many people around. Wrong. Reception was fully manned, our bags were carried to the room for us and they kept a small bar open for a tea / coffee etc. The friendliness of the staff was evident throughout the holiday where 90% of them spoke good or broken English and we did not come across any that weren't walking around smiling all the time! Just a note to add here, I have never been to a hotel where staff nearly outnumber guests!

Rooms:- We had a ground floor room with a garden view (if returning I would request a second floor room for private balcony). The room was very spacious, clean and modern. The decor was quite minimilistic with some bright colours chucked in for good measure. Free safe in each room where you choose the PIN of your choice, plenty of towels and also a fairly decent hairdryer. The TV had 2 English channels one of which was BBC World so handy to catch up with goings on at home. Minibar is stocked up with the first drinks free and replacements chargeable (not expensive).

Food :- Breakfast was served 7:30am til 10am and consisted of cereals, meats, and hot food suited more to continental Europe so no fry ups! Lunch and Dinner were both served in the main restaurant and on the whole were quite similar to each other. A huge selection of fresh salads, bread, meats, rice, potatoes, pizza, pasta, chips, grilled meats & fish and more cakes or sweets than you could imagine. I defy anyone to go and not find something they like, even the fussiest of eaters. A snack bar is also open pool side serving burgers, chips, pizza, kebab meat. 2 a la carte restaurants Fish and Mexican. We personally didn't try the fish restaurant but the setting was lovely. If only staying fro one week I wouldn't bother with the Mexican as I don't recall it being very Mexican at all. on the whole though was excellent.

Drink :- drinks served from early morning until 1am. Beers on offer are Efes and Becks, both cool and crisp perfect for the hot weather. Tea and Coffe left a little to be desired but not unusual on holiday. All soft drinks were the real mccoy brands and you can take large or small bottles of water when you like which are all kept in the freezer so ice cold. Red wine was ok but the Rose is probaly best avoided.

Pool :- The pool was very large, clean and situated perfectly. Surrounded by sunbeds that we never once had trouble reserving at all time of the day. If you don't fancy laying poolside then there are expansive grounds in the shad where you can relax or on the sea front either on the very samll man made beach, one of 4 decked areas with steps into the water or on cushions out on the jetty. As the hotel is in quite a secluded area the bay is quite tranquil and personally my favourite part of the hotel. They do play music most of the day but not loud and nothing to lively. The views from the front is good for a photo opportunity.

Entertainment :- Pool games and other bit's going on all day but no real pressure from the animation team to join in. Water aerobics twice a day, water polo and football also daily. Pool tables, table tennis and tennis courts available free throughout the day also. Live music twice a week and both singers / bands were excellent well worth watching in the main lounge area. This is a small arena near the entrance to the hotel were the team perform cabaret and other acts. This is more suited for kids I would say though.

Spa Centre :- looked nice but very expensive for what it is and much better alternatives in near by Bodrum or Gumbet. The Turkish bath, Hamman is a must so don't come home without one. The gym connected to the Spa looked quite expansive also.

TV Room :- Large plasma TV for any sporting events on at the time. We watched Champions League Final and Monaco grand prix and reception is happy to arrange for you.

Hotel Location :- As mentioned above the hotel is situated in an area quite secluded so if you want to travel into Torba (5 mins) Bodrum (10 mins) Gumbet (15 mins) it's not difficult. Local Dolmus Bus stops at hotel and is very cheap (2 TRY). A cab office is also located just outside the hotel. Reception will arrange for you and provide maps of local towns and points of interest. If you are looking to go to Dalyman, Pumakule, Ephseus the bear in mind that this area is over 3 hours away from any of them.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and got the rest we were looking for. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality 4 star hotel where you can relax and unwind.

“Amazing place.”

Isil Club Bodrum

WOW is all I can say. As soon as one gets off the coach one recieves a cold flannel and cocktail. Easy no fuss check in. The rooms are absolulty outstanding. Very clean, modern and fresh. The maid cleans the room every day; changes towles, makes bed etc.
The complex is also very clean, the steps were cleaned about six times a day, there were also people cleaning your sunbeds; the complex was immaculate. Everything is very fresh and modern; the place had a refurbishment about a year ago. The pool is very large, and again very clean.
There isn't much of a beach though (Bodrum isn't the place to go for a sandy beach holiday) However, the decking more than made up for it; there were lots of small area's of decking along the sea front. Even if you woke up at 12.00 you would still be able to get a sunbed.
The staff are very freindly, they all speak a bit of English; enough at least for one to get one's point across. The watersports guys speak immaculate English. They are very nice by the way! There is also a doctor at the hotel. He doesn't speak English, so if you can't speak German or Turkish he will simply fetch an English speaker for you. He is also very polite and comes with a nice smile; as with all the staff at the hotel. This place really is 5 star. Whatever you desire (within reason) can become your reality.
The food in the buffet is very tasty, varied and fresh. Everyday there are different specialities from kebabs to samon fillet with mint. The choices really are endless, there is a selection to satisfy every pallet. There are two al' a cartes; The mexican, wasn't really mexican. So If I were you I would eat at the seafood al'a carte. If one desired one could eat from 7:30am -2.30 am! And drink from 9:30 - 2:30!
The animation team were very freindly again, and also spoke great English. There were lots of day time activities from vollyball to blackjack. The evening entertainment was rather funny as well. There were lots of watersports to be done on the beach from sailing to kayaking. The non-motorised sports were included in the All inclusive. You could also for a small cost try activities like waterskiiing and jetskiing etc. One could also participate in one on one lessons (included in the price) In sailling and windsurfing.
I just LOVED this place it was TRULEY amazing. It was the only place that I have ever been once and That I would like to return to!
I had an awesome holiday, it was really nice to go to a place which wasn't loud and rowdy and full of chavs. I would say the majority of the people staying there were french (60%) Then there was 20% English and 20% German.
If you want a holiday to be able to remember The Isil Club is the place for you! Ohh that last sentance made me sound like a fellow from Bath Travel!

“Fantastic Hotel”

Isil Club Bodrum

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 week at the end of September 2007. It was a last minute holiday and are so glad we chose this hotel as we were looking for a week of complete relaxation and that's what we got. The hotel is set in lovely grounds with a nice pool and has steps down to a jetty and small beach. The rooms are very modern with lots of room and are cleaned to a high standard everyday. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. The majority of guests are French or Belgian but this didn't bother us as it has others, in fact in made a nice change. The entertainment duing the day is very well organised and there's something happening most of the day, but there is no pressure to join in. The evening entertainment was good but they could of done with something on every night rather than the odd night. The food is very good and has a lot of choice so there is something for everyone. The main restaurant is a buffet with so much choice - salads, fish, pasta, meat, rice, vegetables, pizza it's hard to choose and as for the desserts - I have never seen so many!!! It also has a spa which we used the Turkish massage/Hammam is excellent but make sure you have it at the start of your holiday as it helps you with your tan. I had a facial which was bliss. I would highly recommend this hotel for it's cleanliness, service, location and food.

2 adults and 4 children between 15 and 10 absolutely loved it and want to go back. Not many English, but that was OK, the Belgium's? some were rude and some were not the same as the English. The food was great, the location fantastic and the rooms spotless. The only negative was the First Choice rep. useless and not interested.
