“Happy travellers :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

Just returned from a weeks stay here.

Location was great, close to the beach (10 mins walking) and opposite the mini market and 10 mins into bodrum on dolmas.

Food was healthy and a good representation of Turkish cuisine. The only pitiful was that the hot dishes were sometimes cold.

The room was clean and bright however the sofa bed was hard and we nicknamed it the stale bread bed as it was as hard as a stale loaf.

The area itself is small, beautiful and quaint. The cost of things have risen in the last two years, making the price of things not much cheaper then the uk.

We went on the diamond cruise and dream girls excursion, both were good fun and quite affordable.

Overall a great holiday, customer service could be improved as some staff lacked charisma and warmth. Ebru was a credit to the team.

We would return to the hotel again as it is good value for what it has to offer, a few Tweaks could make this an outstanding hotel.

Wow what an amazing place, loved every minute. The food was excellent the staff were very attentive nothing was too much trouble.the rooms were lovely modern very clean better than some here in the uk. Only 1 little gripe, there was no tea and coffee making facilities, but you can smuggle 1 in. Dinner is served by the pool under candle light very romantic setting, torba is really quiet but you can hop on a mini bus right outside the hotel and go to bodrom town only a 10 minute ride for a pound, here you will find a lovely harbour lively restaurant s and bars they run until 5am daily. This holiday was perfect and highly recommend ed for couples wanting a romantic relaxing holiday. Stayed 9th-16 september 2013

A beautiful hotel with lovely gardens and pool. Staff friendly and polite, although very little English spoken.
On arrival we were very disappointed with our rooms approached along a dark dingy corridor past cleaners cupboards. Hard to open door as it was so dark and no lights on during the day. The room was very small for a double, had no balcony (I understood on booking all rooms had a balcony) and very little space for clothes. We asked to move but were told the hotel was full. We were kept awake all night by a loud humming noise outside the room. When we asked to move rooms again the next morning the Reception staff didnt understand our concerns but found us 2 new rooms. Our second rooms were a big improvement and as we expected for this hotel.
Food was good with plenty of choice but you do need to eat early as the food was not hot enough if you ate later and some things, especially desserts, ran out quickly. Although, if you asked, another gateau would be brought out.
We were stopped from bringing water into the hotel after the Security guard rang through to Reception. The Receptionist took it from us and said she would send it to our room but not to do it again!! It wasnt sent to our room but we did get it back when we went out the next day. We did notice a couple of times the Security Guard failed to report some young pretty girls bringing in bags of water and alcohol! Drinks are very expensive at this hotel.
This is a very relaxing and peaceful hotel, and other than the couple of issues with the Receptionist, we had a great week. Torba is a quiet small town with some nice restaurants, though not much of a beach. Bodrum is only 10minutes away on the dolmus for a livelier night out.

This is a lovely hotel if you like peace and quiet! If you are looking for a hotel with entertainment every night this is not the place for you. Perfect for us as it attracts the calmer clientele. A lovely mix of Turks, Italians, Greeks, French and a few English families when we were there the last week of July. The family suite was perfect for 3 or 4, it was cleaned every day with fresh towels. The only slight downside were the hard beds, especially the sofa bed.The Hamas on site was fab, highly recommended, although of course more expensive than the local Hamas in bod rum it is more attentive and the bonus of being in the hotel. The food was just lovely, all freshly made very day and typical Turkish so you sample the local cuisine very day breakfast and evening.. We will hopefully be visiting again next year despite the fact we never normally go back anywhere twice!

Room Tip: 1802... With a lovely view of the pool yet far enough away that it wasn't overlooking the bar, a...

Hotel Zeytinada is set on a very busy road....but don't let that put you off! Once inside, you really cannot hear the road at all. It is made up of a number of very attractive stone clad appartments and family suites, all set around a beautiful pool. There are plenty of sunloungers with parasols and complimentary towels. The whole complex is beautifully landscaped and full of lovely plants and flowering shrubs. The Dolmas bus picks up opposite the hotel and runs every 15 minutes like clockwork and only costs the equivalent of a £1.00 to go into Bodrum.

All of the rooms have balconies and although there were only 2 of us, we decided to go for a suite rather than just a room as it has a separate sitting room which was really nice. The room was decorated in a very tasteful and contemporary style with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom with a huge double shower and great water pressure. The WIFI connection was pretty good although a bit inconsistent at times. The air-conditioning was lovely and a real life-saver at times!

The staff are very friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. They seem to work tirelessly to ensure that everything is as clean, tidy and relaxing as possible. English is not widely spoken although this wasn't a big problem and generally you could make yourself understood.

Opposite there is a really great supermarket, where we made regular trips to top up on wine and beer for the room ;0), and five minutes walk down the road you are in to Torba which is a lovely and very laid back little fishing village which has a long narrow strip of beach with plenty of sunloungers and parasols which are owned by the local cafes, bars and restaurants. You can either hire them for the day (for about £5.00) or buy food and drink to the equivalent. A word of warning....the beach and the sea bed are covered in very sharp stones which are virtually impossible to walk on with bare feet so get yourself some jelly shoes or swimming shoes because the water is lovely.

There have been some negative reports about the Voyage hotel but we didn't think it particularly encroached on Torba and there are plenty of water sport activities you can pay for with the Voyage. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the "private" beach that the hotel buses you to....you have to wait to be picked up, it drives you to the other end of Torba which means a long walk back to the hotel if you want to go back. Go and enjoy the friendly local bars and cafes!! We really liked Torba beach...it's peaceful and the views are stunning and it's only a short walk back to the supermarket, cash point and hotel.

We went right at the beginning of August and although it was hot, there always seemed to be a breeze and some evening there was quite a strong warm wind, but it was very nice. The hotel seems to attract a lot of families with younger children and babies....this wasn't a particular problem for us but the children do stay up very late and tend to run around the tables in the evening which can be a little bit annoying at times...there tends to be a lot of large inflatables in the main pool also which can restrict swimming but these were just minor irritations. There were mainly Turkish and Dutch people holidaying, a few French and even fewer English but personally, we didn't mind.

The breakfast and evening meal were open buffets. There was plenty of choice and on the whole, the food was of a good standard. Chicken, beef, lamb and fish were all served at some point, some evenings they did barbequed meat and there were plenty of salads but the hot vegetables were bit disappointing, over-cooked and soggy. Always plenty of cheeses and fruit and deserts and omelettes on offer every morning, cooked to order. A tip.....don't leave going to dinner too late as although they serve it until 10:00 pm, you tend to get left with the dregs!!! There are a few cats that hang around the tables but as a cat-lover, I didn't mind at all!

The Spa looked lovely but we didn't bother with it. In Torba, there is a great little excursion booking agent called "Danny", who we organised all our trips with....a lovely, honest and very funny man who like all Turks, works long hours and very hard. We did Ephesus (great), Kos day trip (don't bother....you will spend hours queueing at passport control both sides and Kos Town really is aimed at the 18-25 age group!), boat trip round an island (great) and got a free turkish bath thrown in at a Hammam in Gumbet (now that is quite an experience!!). We went to Bodrum a couple of times which is a really great city full of charm and colour.

Through chatting to local people, we soon realised that although the cost of living is low, the average wage in Turkey is really small and the tourist season is relatively short,so dig deep and tip whenever you can as they will really appreciate it. We met some really lovely Turkish people working in the bars and cafes and overall, I would say that the Turkish are really friendly people.

This was our first trip to Turkey and we will definitely go back. It has a lovely climate, beautiful scenery, low cost of living and the Turkish people do all they can to make you feel as welcome as possible.

Room Tip: Go for a suite if you can, it's worth paying a little extra for a lot more room.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights from 27 Jun to 6 Jul 2013 with our 4 year old daughter & 4 month old baby. We had a family room which was very comfortable and nicely decorated. (Just to warn others with a pram/pushchair there are quite a few steps to get around the hotel, but we managed fine). The pool area was lovely and we really enjoyed the food - lots of Turkish style salad and enough hot food to chose from. There was always something that my 4 year old could eat. We had read previous reviews about the lack of fresh orange juice at breakfast so we knew what to expect, I ordered a fresh juice from the waiter every morning which we paid extra for, but we didn't mind as we felt the half board rate that we paid through Thomson was excellent value for what we got. I cannot rate the Spa highly enough! I had 5 different massages by the 2 Thai girls and they were the best I've ever had! The sauna, Haman and jacuzzi are all free to use and this was an added bonus to our holiday. The beach bar and jetty that the courtesy bus drops off at was great too, the sunbeds are free as long as you buy drinks/lunch and the food was really nice & fresh. The only negative about the hotel was the service could definitely be improved. The staff are very nice, however the food at lunch time took a long time to arrive and sometimes there was confusion with the language barrier as most of them only speak pidgeon English. Our room was also cleaned quite late in the day on a few occasions and 1 day they knocked at 7 pm to clean the room so I had to turn them away because we were getting ready for dinner, which was quite annoying when our bins were over flowing. The floors in the room could have been cleaner, but nothing to put you off. We hardly saw any insects or Mosquitos the entire holiday which was great. All in all it is a lovely hotel with an excellent Spa for that extra bit of relaxation.
