My friend and I stayed at the Parkim Ayaz from the 15th to 22nd Sept 08 following reading great reviews on Tripadvisor. This hotel is in a fantastic location, directly on the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and nightlife of Gumbet. We had a large room with one double and one single bed with a huge balcony with a side sea view and it was beautiful. We stayed half board and the meals, (buffet style) were plentiful and varied with something to suit everyones tastes. We did have a problem with our first room allocated but this was quickly changed when we approached our Thomsons Rep Emma (thanks for brilliant service Emma) and we encountered no problems throughout the holiday. The room was very quiet on a night time, even though we were close to loud entertainment, which I believe is due to excellent double glazing, we did encounter some noise from banging doors.

“Brill Hotel”

Parkim Ayaz Hotel

Sep 9, 2008

just got back from the AYAZ on 8th sept after a weeks stay and had a brill time. We only had one complaint and that was the first room we were put in had a view of a brick wall and a lawnmower store!! the room was tiny not big enough for 3 adults and you couldnt get dressed in the en suite as the shower soaked everywhere!!! So i asked to be changed and they did and we got an ace room overlooking Cozzy beach bar so remember to ask for this when booking ...but i believe the old rooms are gradually getting refurbished soon.
Any way back to the hotel the bars are fab and the staff are really friendly.. look out for little "charlie" says he's 16 but looks 12 ! the drinks prices are about the same as uk but efes in a bottle just like fosters and not watered down.the food we found fine always something to choose from and the breakfasts ok but we only made it in time twice so we ate at the pool bar every afternoon and a fab choice.
if you walk along the beach there are loads of bars to choose from all offering some entertainment or you can go wild and go to bar street ( left out of hotel and 50 yards) were the beer is cheaper in some places but some people say its watered down but always offers of free shots or cocktails. clothes and perfume a bargain but always barter and dont book your trips thru rep use agents on the street.
will def go back sometime so enjoy

“PARKIM AYAZ - Good but has flaws.”

Parkim Ayaz Hotel

Sep 5, 2008

Arrived on 18th August for 2 weeks and was shown to our room which was very small, our view from our balconey was of a white wall about 9ft away and 4ft looking to the right straight into someone elses room. We asked to be moved and the staff were very obliging, we were shown two more rooms accepting one overlooking the lawn with hammocks and a family of tortoises. Tip-the rooms on the right side of reception appear to be bigger and better than on the right. Rooms were cleaned daily wth fresh towels. Food is repeatative and breakfast was often the same daily. The evening meal was edible but not great. Another issue was that breakfast is served between 8 and 10, the evening meal was between 8-10 which is a long day with those with children. Tip-
Queues were the problem for the evening meal and the later you left it, often they ran out of food. The hotel has two pools which the cozzy bar was more for adults the other has a slide and was more for the youngsters. Tip-parents be advised both pools are fairly deep especially pool with slide also no one waits for the person to move once they have been done slide and saw a couple of accidents, especially when the locals enter the pool and can take over being loud and boisterous. Entertainment is often repeatative and starts after 11pm. Turkey is no longer the cheap haven it once was and more or less everyone was complaining of how expensive it was for buying drinks and food at lunchtime in and around the bars in the hotel, even the the shops wouldn't really haggle with you and if they did you didn't get much off no matter how good your haggling skills were. The beach isn't particuarly clean but if you can turn a blind eye to this then ok. The staff are very friendly and helpful which is a plus for this hotel. This hotel is not really designed for children as apart from the couple of slides and the pools thats pretty much it. If you decide to eat out be mindful and chose carefully as some restaurants serve food which is disgraceful ie packet of mixed veg, frozen chips and steaks so thin you don;t require a knife. I complained to one manager in bar street explaining that i was an ex-chef and advised of the problems and he wanted me to go to hs kitchen and show his Chef how to cook a steak for which i natuarally refused. Tip-Denny's restuarant next to Cozzy bar serve good food which you get 20% off if you reside at Hotel, tables are set on beach which can get chilly for the ladies and food can get cold quickly from sea breeze. If you intend on going on trips i can recommend Parmmukale and the Dalyan however they are very long days, up to 4 hours on coach(air conditioned) although you stop off at other places on the way. Tip-use Canyon tours outside of reception to the left, very reliable and vastly cheaper than tour operaters, insurance guaranteed. Bar street has loads of bars but again not cheap, the shots are watered down and when i challenged them on one occasion they poured vodka in the glasses for free, so make sure you challenge!. Without doubt best bar of all that treat you well, not expensive and make you feel welcome is the LMT bar to the left of reception you can see it as you leave the hotel, i cannot fault this place. Just along from there is Yummies 24 hour kebabs, cheap and very moorish you need to watch your waistline, especially if you drink to dawn and are hungry. Be advised on the day of check out you have to vacate the rooms by 12, you can pay £20 extra to to in a room not often the same one but only to 6ish, they do have showers if you don't pay extra however its a long day especially if you have an early morning flight. Would i stay there again, probably, with children then no.

We arrrived 15 Aug 08. Parkim Ayaz has lovely grounds, gardens, hammocks. Beach is lovely, free sun beds, and we always got a bed! Lots of good water sports in which a lot of people participated in. Weather was excellent, perhaps a little too hot, but a siesta in the afternoon was a must!

On the down side, food was okay, but not much choice. Parkim Ayaz catered for not just the english but other people from around the world, so there was a lack of english food. There wasnt much choice for puds either, virtually same every night. Plenty of other restaurants in the area for you to buy food. Breakfast was continental, no english fry ups, although I did see some baked beans on a few occasions! But you could buy english fry ups at loads of places around.

The staff were very good, especially bar staff at "Ladybird" on the beach, which was part of Parkim Ayaz. They were very friendly, and the "Cool Breeze" pub, near reception, they were great staff too.

Rooms are basic, but clean sheets and towels every day. If there was problem in your room, they would be there in minutes to fix it.

Be careful if you have a health problem, if you go to a medical centre, beware, you could have to pay hundreds of pounds, for a simple ailment.

Gumet is expensive when buying from shops/bars. Drinks of a glass of coke or beer is 5 lire, around 2 pounds 50p. Haggling with shop assistant is a must, you kind of get used to it and can be fun!

On the whole a good holiday, but I'm sorry to say I wont be going there again, I did go for 2 weeks though. I think I would have been a lot happier if it was just for 1 week, as thats what I normally do.

Stayed first 2 weeks of August. Reception looks great, staff helpful. Our room was very very small and the bathroom even smaller and it also smelt a bit of stale smoke. Any problems we told them about were rectified quickly. The room was cleaned every day, beds made, clean towels etc. Also had a safety deposit box and hair dryer (which worked better than it looked like it would). Air con was fab too – had to turn it off at times cos it worked a little too well!! 2 great pools. Our fave was the one with Cozzy Beach bar - great bar with fantastic, friendly and helpful staff.

Great location - from front of hotel you could go either left or right and there were plenty of shops, restaurants and "loud" bars e.g. Molly Malone’s, karaoke bars, come here get free shot type bars etc. From the back of the hotel (which is right on the beach) there were lots of bars offering entertainment such as belly dancing, break dancers (these were fab) and snake shows etc with plenty or restaurants too.

Disappointed with room but would stay here again as the location was ideal for everything and the staff were brilliant too.
