This apartment complex is rated as 2* and that is about the mark for this hotel although it has the potential to be much better.
The good points:-
1. Location. The Hotel is at the edge of Gumbet and within a 15-20 minute walk to Bodrum. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the ever popular bar street in Gumbet.
2. Outside Areas. The pool and bar areas are kept immaculately clean with the staff constantly checking the pool. The pool is also quite large for such a smll complex.
3. Staff. The staff are all very friendly and make you feel very welcome as you would expect from a family owned complex.
The bad points:-
1 Rooms. Although the rooms are large they are sparcely decorated (to be expected from a 2* hotel). All rooms have twin beds but it quie easy to push them together. There was quite a spacious living/dining/kitchen area, a small shower room and 1 bedroom (although it looked like the couch in the living area was actually a bed settee).
The kitchenette facilities were rather basic consisting of a kettle, a two ring electric plate, a fridge and a limited choice of utensils. This didn't bother us as we had no intention of cooking anything ourselves but this would be frustrating for anyone who did wish to cook.
2. Cleanliness. On arrival, whilst the room wasn't up to my standard of cleanliness (and I admit I do have issues!) it wasn't bad for Turkey.
However, the floors were only mopped once during our week long stay so by the end of the week the rooms were a bit of a mess to say the least. All of the floors were tiled and so dirty footprints trailed you everywhere once you had a shower as the shower room just got soaking wet- and we are not dirty people! There was also nothing in the room except a manky old brush to be able to do any cleaning youself - not that I wanted to anyhow.
The towels were changed three times and the bedding twice - although there were more stains on the "clean" towels and bedding than there were on the dirty ones!
On our last night, whilst we were out, the "cleaners" decorated our beds with flowers and made our towels into heart shapes - nice but to be fair I would rather they had mopped the floor!
4. Noise. The hotel was in a quiet area of Gumbet but the music in the hotel bar was sometines quite loud in the evenings - especially at 3am some mornings when they had "new arrivals" who were obviously gagging for their first beers! Also there must have been a mosque quite close by as the call to prayer woke us most mornings at around 5am.
My overall impression of this hotel is that it is a good base for Gumbet/Bodrum with a lovely outside area/pool. However the only thing that lets it down is the cleanliness (or rather lack of) in the rooms which could easily be resolved.
