Listen, this is a a fine hotel. They keep the floors of the main hotel and restaurant immaculate! They never stop cleaning and polishin them. THe rooms only get cleaned every 2-3 days, but its fine, what do you want! The pool is cleaned and chlorine added every night.

Staff - broken english, but theyre not all too bad. excellent amounts of drink and food. it IS NOT WATERED DOWN trust me - I got absolutely pissed on the vodka one night - they pour half-pint glasses full of it regularly.

Food - soup and fresh bread everyday at all meal times. THe fresh salad is fantastic, the turkish food is obviously a bit different, but its still chicken/steak but just with their sauces thats all. 2 of the 7 nights are kebab/bbq nights so its not the same every night.

activities (more for the lads) everyday water polo etc - good laugh

we booked this hotel seven weeks before we were due to go and were a little aprehensive about some of the reviews we had read. After staying all inclusive in Turkey last year we had an idea what to expect but this hotel far exceeded our expectations. when we arrived, after a delayed flight check in took five minutes and our suitcases were carried to our room for us. Yes, there are stairs but they are easily managable unless you have walking difficulties already.
Our room was spotless, bedding and towels changed regularly and we had a balcony which we didnt have last year. There was so much varierty with the food and i fail to see how there wasnt something for everyone!!
the staff, although some of them didnt speak that much English, could do enough for you.
the drinks were served in small cups but this was only in the day time and you could ask for bigger cups.
The general interior was so clean and there was always someone cleaning the toilets everytime you went in!!!
Overall this is probably one of the best hotels ive stayed in, I really enjoyed and and couldnt fault it!!
anyone that has booked to stay at this hotel should look forward to having a really good holiday.

Don't know where to start as there is a lot to say :) We have been there for one week with my boyfriend. We were really disappointed when we found out that we have to climb sooo many stairs to reach main area from our room. rooms are OK but cleaning is very poor. what they call cleaning is making beds. the hotel is four stars but i would give two or three. as i have been to bodrum many times before i can say that there are better three star hotels around the same area with better food and entertainment facilities.
Breakfast was boring as there wasn't many options and it was the same everyday. Lunch and dinner was not nice and they use some weird spices so u dont taste rotten food. i had stomach problems most of the time. drinks were not really good except for coke. that was the only original one u could have. beer is so bad especially when u have in plastic cups. we have never used pool as it was filthy and very small. had to go to beach everyday which is far from the hotel.

Entertainment in the hotel is very poor. Well depends actually.... their entertainment facilities are all organized by a puppet who calls himself Jimmy. Lol. He thinks he is doing good job but to be honest we had fun only bcos he is funny himself. such a looser!
Hotel was full with english tourists getting drunk and screaming and shouting in the middle of night. so before u get ur room make sure they are not around otherwise you will have sleepless nights.
As last I want to say thank you to our Italian buddy who cheered us up! :) There were some great people around like him who made this hotel bit more bearable. we would never go there again.

“not a five star!!!!!!!!”

Grand Newport

Sep 8, 2008

Ok, so its definately not the 4/5 star as advertised- but it could be worse.
The main problem is food and the stairs-
The hotel was always clean, rooms cleaned- pool area and hotel was always being cleaned. The rooms were nice and spacious, bathrooms are all clean and modern.
Hotel staff were fine- limited english- but you are in their country and after a lot of being nice to them will try and help you with what you need, spare a thought and a tip if you can- to the poor guy who carries your suitcases- the stairs are a mission even without a case and he is up and down all the time- this hotel is not suitable if you have any difficulty walking- we made sure we took everything we needed up for the day as to far keep going up and down.
One tip is as you cant leave key card to keep air -con on all day- cut a piece of card up to fit as keeps room cool all day

The main issue is the food- which is as everybody has already mentioned - POOR
everything is just slop in sauce- the odd meal you can eat but normally cold and limited choice- best night is kebab night on saturday.
If they sorted the food- just a couple of better meat choices and kept it warm hotel would be fine

“Judge for yourself! (It is good though!)”

Grand Newport

Sep 8, 2008

It was really hard to decide whether to stay at this hotel because of all the mixed reviews on here but you should judge it for yourself just like we did.

We arrived home yesterday and had a great time. We were very relieved when being dropped off at this hotel compared to the hotels we passed on the way! It may be at the top of the hill but there is a dolmus bus which passes by every 5-10 mins to take you wherever you need to go for about 2 lira (1 pound a go)

Fair enough there are a lot of stairs to the room where we were at the bottom but at the end of the day we didn't really mind and could do with the exercise!! The staff carry your cases as well at any time so don't worry about that. If you do really want to be moved though have your rep speak to the manager and they will happily move you if they are not full.

Food was really nice as there was a good selection of chicken, red meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. There was plenty of salad and a great selection of puds! The only thing that may be difficult though is food for kids but its a good place to educate their pallets.
In between lunch and dinner is a snack bar which serves burgers and chips if you are feeling peckish.
I don't understand why some people were disappointed with the food as your in Turkey after all!

All inclusive drinks include vodka, gin, raki, wine, beer and soft drinks anything international and past 11pm you had to pay for which is usually indicated when buying the holiday.
Drinks weren't watered down but if you do find them a bit weak the barmen don't have any problem in topping them up as we found out and are in large cups and not plastic.
The small plastic cups are used for soft drinks only and if you want more just order 2! ( Something to do with being easier to tidy up - fair enough)

The rooms were clean and tidy, good bathrooms with powerful showers and were cleaned everyday and towels were replaced regularly and ther a/c worked great and the doors locked fine but i'm sure some people have problems. (prev review)
There is a safe in every room for a small fee of about 15 pound to keep your passports in etc. Nothing went missing apart from my shoes but that was totally my fault!!!

Staff were all really friendly and looked after everyone and they will quite happily carry you down the stairs if you are a bit worse for wear like my friend one night.
The staff love children and they will always make time for them which was sweet.

Entertainment was ok, something was going on every night Haken (entertainment guy) tries to get people up and join in which was sometimes a pain but i guess he's just doing his job!
Daytime was the same with water polo and volleyball etc

We went in to Gumbet most nights and found this good, plenty of bars and clubs to go to but try to barter for the booze to as some bars try their luck although dancing on the bar seems to work!

All in all we had a really good time and would recommend this hotel to all types of people. If you don't have stupidly high expectations this is the place to go!
