When we arrived we where very pleased with the Hotel and the reception area and lounges. Reception staff did not speak English but we where taken to our room by a young man who carried our bags down 74 stairs!! We both needed oxygen every time we had to climb them and had to make sure that we did not forget anything as the stairs are very steep. Our room was nice with fantastic views across the bay, especially at night. One problem was no balcony furniture so you could not sit out and enjoy the views. Also never had a change of towels the whole week. Our balcony door did not lock and reception could not understand the problem! Food was OK but you would have needed at least 2 bottles of vodka to get anywhere near merry. I drink Bacardi but they had no rum!! first place I have been to that has not had any. Also one of the guys at the pool bar is very rude. I would not go again either to this hotel or Turkey as I want a holiday with no hassle, here you are hassled all the time by the Turks.

When we arrived there was people at the reception door to take your case. They carried it down all the stairs and shown us to our room. The hotel views are out of this world especially at night. The stairs would be a problem for anyone who is disabled or struggles to walk but for everyone else they are fine.
The hotel is in a really good location if you want a quiet holiday but want to be close enough to the bars.... thats if you dont mind paying £4 in a taxi home.
The food was very simple and it would be better if they labelled what you were eating but some waiters in the restaurant could tell you what it was if you asked. The drinks were not very good if you are diabetic as when we arrived we discovered that they mixed full fat cola with a bit of water and classes that as cola light.
Not all of the staff understood English but most of the time there was someone around to translate.
The entertainment at night would be better if it was more organised but when something was on it was ok.
We enjoyed our stay at Grand Newport and relaxed for the week we were there. We would definately go back to Gumbet.

This hotel was amazing for the price it cost. We were so shocked by the reviews left here recently we couldnt believe it was the same hotel.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Grand Newport Hotel and were absolutley thrilled with it. It was an absolute steal!! We could not fault it. It was immaculate, the staff were friendly and not intrusive, the food - granted, there wasnt alot of selection but what they had was fantastic, really tasty traditional turkish food - if you expect chicken and chips go to Blackpool! They had lovely BBQ's and Kebabs outside in the evening, and lots of fresh salad.

The views are incredible, and yes there is a lot of steps but only if you get a room at the bottom, other wise they wouldnt bother you. I wouldnt recommend it for the eldery or handicapped, other than that we were glad of the exercise after such a relaxing day by the pool. The view is well worth the exercise!

It is such a lovely hotel and the staff were so well presented, and dressed smartly. We always decide to go somewhere different each year on our holidays but wouldnt hesistate going back to the Grand Newport it made that much of an impression on us.

There is also a bus that stops literally outside the hotel and takes you all the way through Gumbet and on to Bodrum. One thing we wouldnt recommend was the waterpark, its a hazard (the majority of the slides are in the dark) and theres not a lot to do, we got bored in 5 minutes. The lazy river is more like a lazy pond. Not worth it at all.

All in all if your looking for England with sunshine, your better off in Benidorm, but if your willing to accept different countries have different ways of doing things - you will have an amazing holiday.

Me & my girl friend stayed at this hotel & have just returned two weeks ago & we had an absolutely amazing time. The food was amazing, the staff was very helpful & the quality of the service was spot on. location is brilliant & the overall experience was fantastic. It is definitely recommended!!
