been in Turkey twice before and most apartments are basic as w
as the Arya. Although very spacious the cleanliness and maid service was very poor to non existant and had to fight to get glasses for our drinks. The sheets on the double bed were actually for a single bed which was not very nice. The guy in reception was very rude and arrogant not sure of his name he was short with shaved dark hair always watching T.V. I would not recommend these apartments although in a good location that is all that is good.

“3rd year back wasnt happy”

Arya Aparthotel

Aug 3, 2008

our 3rd year back after 2 brilliant holidays at arya. some of the staff had changed which we knew about before we booked. arrived early hours the staff where all still up to greet us. the next morn the recep manager introduced himself which thought was nice of him, then i really saw a change. i dont now his name but he sat in reception watchin tv all the time, martin was doin all the work. had a problem with the shower it was cold reported this to him he said he will get it sorted, 4 days later still a cold shower he moved us. two days later he asked could he move us again. i hit the roof, he was very rude arrogant and looks down at women. one day he wore a tshirt that said good evening [----], now what sort of recep manager would wear that. he turned up in the mornin with his neck full of love bites a few of the guest had saw him goin into the hotel rooms, usin it as a brothel. the room we had was a good size and appeared to be quite clean. but as time went on we saw what was goin on, the cleaners would turn up to the rooms, leave the cleanin stuff outside the door go in the rooms turn the sheets over, mop the floor then go. all the guest had to ask for toilet rolls, clean towels and to have there beds changed. we went 8 days before our beds had clean sheets on. last year was brill, the cleaners came in every day left clean towels, toilet rolls cleaned the room and changed the beds, this year was very disapointin it has really let the place down, its such a shame as the staff, apart from him in recep, not martin, are fantastic. i wont be stayin there again but will be back to visit my friends. if you would like to have a holiday sharing your room with ants and cockroaches then go ahead and book, you wont be disapointed,by the way the restuarant which is being leased out to a lovley man is fantastic. the food is amazing and reasonable, and gino the chef and his team and all the rest staff are brill, love you all.

“would go back to the Arya”

Arya Aparthotel

Jun 17, 2008

Arya apartments are in a superb location and on the flat which is an added bonus in Gumbet. Self catering facilities are basic which is the norm in turkey, however these apartments were deffinatley one of the best we have stayed in. The beds were comfy and the rooms a decent size and what a wonderful balcony, it was big enough to fit 7 or 8 people. Bathroom a good size and a large kitchen with very poor cooking facilities and utensils. Pool area was a good size with plenty of sun loungers but very little shade. Air conditioning is a most and quite expensive at £60.00 for two weeks. the downside was that when you left your room the air conditioning went off and it took a long time to cool down again when you returned. Cleanliness of the rooms was disgraceful. We went for 6 days without towels, linen change, rubbish removal. The floors were filthy and we had to wear our shoes all the time in the rooms. We were told that the cleaners had been sacked and they were trying to replace them. I also had a silver bracelet removed from my room and one of the reception staff was totally unhelpful about this. We were told that as a gesture of good will we could keep our room on for free on our final day. I was satisfied with this, however when this day arrived I was approached and told that they wanted the money and never once did they say that I could keep my room on. I was very angry with Alhmed about this and had a heated argument, which annoyed me as during our holiday he was fine with us. Abdul was a right pain and we thought that if we got our turkish bath and massage straight away he would leave us alone. But this was not the case. He tortured us for the virtual 2 weeks and when he realised he was getting no where he just blanked us. The bar staff were fab (Ali and zorro), had a great way with the kids, we thoroughly enjoyed their company, and Martin on reception was a great guy also. Food in the Arya was good although a bit pricey and again once you go there you are hassalled all the time. We enjoyed the corner bar, food great, prices reasonable and the staff more than great. I know that reading thru what I've written it paints a bleak picture, but they were the best apartments we have stayed in whilst holidaying in Turkey. I would return again, great location, good sized apartments, great weather, some wonderful people (some not), Gumbet is a young and lively resort, but my mum and mother in law thoroughly enjoyed it and all want to go back

Not sure about this hotel. when we first arrived we got a fantastic welcome, so so friendly. the rooms are very small in the hotel side, i'm not sure about the apartments. they are basic rooms which you can expect in turkey, it was clean, and the rooms were cleaned regularly. the maids were lovely. great pool if you can get a sunbed. people leave their towels on the sunbeds and then disappear shopping or go for a meal and then come back, so we couldn't get a sunbed sometimes which was annoying and we had to go to the beach instead. At the Arya there is a restaurant attached, which they expect you to eat there otherwise they get the face on with you. after a while i got used to this, we stopped eating there on the second day because the food wasnt up to much, and they let us know regularly how disappointed they were in us, which makes you feel bad. most of the staff were great, especially martin on reception nothing was too much trouble if you had a problem. hassan at the pool bar was great too, and cash from the restaurant he had a great sense of humour. i wasn't keen on abdul he was always harrasing you to have a turkish bath, which we had, but once your in there he goes on about having the massage , and the face pack, and then he wants you to buy the soap kit aswell. you have that and then in your 2nd week he's bothering you again for another one. in the end i just ignored him otherwise i would have been rude to him. the hotel is in a great postion for the beach and the bars and restaurants, it's central so you have access to everything. and please do not stay in the hotel all the time, turkey is a beautiful country so explore it, you would be daft not too, the bodrum area is steeped in history and there are some great excursions to go on. lastly i would go to gumbet again but not to this hotel, too much harassment for me.

Although we were not booked in to these brilliant, friendly apartments we spent every day there. Our own pool was terrible and the wonderful people of Arya apartments invited us to use their pool and make full use of all the facilities - which we did. The pool is great for children, the pool bar is super - good food and very reasonably priced. I can throughly reccommend this complex to families and couples, infact we rate it so highly we have booked for next year again. The staff were the most helpful, friendly, genuine people i had ever met while on any holiday . The food they serve in the restaurant is absolutely beautiful - give it a try you wont be disappointed
