we stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks,it said 2 star but im sure its more than that, the service was fantastic and we couldnt have asked for better staff.i would rate this hotel 5 star for location,food,service,staff.yes room are basic but you dont spend much time in them anyway,the rooms are cleaned every day by trustworthy and very friendly maids.
we arrived to a honeymoon bed covered in flowers (see attached pic) and towels in the shape of hearts,it was a wonderfull touch to start our 2 week honeymoon,also wine and fresh fruit were in our room.this set the standard for the rest of the fortnight all the staff could not do enough for us,from collecting our cases at 3.30 am on arrival to cooking,serving food and drinks whether on the beach or in the bar,and also taking our cases and accompanying us to the coach on departure and waving us off with a tear in their and our eyes,we have never met such a friendly bunch of people before and that has given us the best honeymoon we could have hoped for.please dont be put off by the 2 star rating,this hotel is in tompsons small and friendly brochure and it is a fitting description as it certainly is small and friendly and we wont be going anywhere else now, it suited us down to the ground and we will be going again next year.just like to thank all staff and sulyman for such a wonderful stay and we will be coming again next yr to spend our 1st wedding anniversary with you,will keep our memories of our honeymoon forever, hello chef,missing my coleslaw and carrots.

By chance ended up at Mels 2 years ago - loved it. It is a step away from the beach, rooms basic (ie no TV, radio) but very clean - maid service every day. Balcony not big enough to sit on, but with the main bar/restaurant area under shade, who wants to sit in their rooms anyway. All the staff are wonderful, very helpful, and Suleyman the owner has become a friend. First time went with just me and husband, went back the following May (2004) with 12, August 2004 with another 12, and have booked to go back again twice this year. In May 2005 we are chartering the Mehmet Usta, the beautiful Gulet owned by the family, and then spending another week in the hotel - 12 on the boat, 38 in the hotel. Going again in August 2005 with another 11. Everyone from the cleaner to the kitchen staff to the waiters to the receptionists to the owner are just wonderful. Plenty to do - either in the quieter bars/restaurants around the bay, or up in the town where there are disco's, bars and restaurants a-plenty. Cannot recommend it highly enough to you.
