“Pool area lovely but everything else 2 Star!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I have just returned from the Magnific after staying for one week with 7 adults and 2 children. I have never written a review before but felt this needs to be said as many of the reviews on here are clearly written by hotel staff!

Check in: Arrive at 4am to a reception full of people with one guy behind the desk who barely speaks English. This guy managed to get us checked in after about 30 minutes but then refused to give us the keys until the 'bell boy' arrived. After another 30 minutes (now 5am) the 'bell boy' arrives with no trolley for luggage, cannot speak a word of English and takes all of our room keys from the reception guy, not having a clue who is staying in which room! Finally we all get to our rooms, time now is nearly 6am!

Rooms: standard room that is supposed to accomodate 3 adults barely has room to swing a cat. The room looked over the pool and had a small balcony but the room itself was so dark you could barely see - just one main light outside the bathroom and two ikea style lamps are not sufficent. The double bed is big but only has one single sheet turned width ways to cover two adults, after three days of complaining I finally managed to get another blanket! Air con always worked which was a plus. Sheets and towels were changed every day and room cleaned to a poor standard - dust and dirt under all beds. Mini fridge had two cans of drink on arrival and one warm bottle of water and was not re-filled at any point during the week. Bathroom small and dingy with a shower that dribbled as soon as you turn the hot water on! The music from the bars can be heard until about 4/5am but luckily I am a heavy sleeper, if you wasnt, this would be a nightmare, not a holiday.

Food & drink: Breakfast was ok, choice of fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast (not English breakfast style) ommelette and egg station where thye are cooked in front of you. Lunch was buffet in the main dining hall and comprised of salads, pasta, cooked meat hot and cold. Lunch by the pool area was salad bar, burgers, chips and pizza, was edible but not to a high standard. Always ate out for dinner so cannot comment. Drink selection was so poor it was shocking, coke, lemonade, fanta, water, beer, wine, vodka and gin! For an all-inclusive resort this was appauling. Most of our spending money was spent buying drinks of our choice in the bar next door which just happens to be owned by the hotel - how convenient! Drinks were also served in glasses to five year old children, when we complained about this and asked for plastic cups, the manager of the bar told us no. This left no option to order a beer which was served in a plastic cup, empty it out and pour the soft drink in the plastic cup. After complaining to the hotel manager, they finally started to use plastic cups!

Pool area: Pool is lovely, very warm and clean but also very deep the whole way around so make sure young children are supervised at all times. Wasnt a problem getting sunbeds by 9am but after this time was pretty busy. The decking was coming loose in places and there were loose tiles by the childrens pool which were sharp and dangerous. Beach is tiny and always packed by 8am so if you like the beach, get up early.

Check out: Only one courtesy room for all passengers checking out that day, luggage room so small that you had to leave your cases in the main reception area!

Overall, this hotel is definately not a 4* the rooms, the staff, the food and drink selection is better at Butlins!

i have been this hotel in mid-week august. maid service and food-beverage is great and friendly. my room is club style and good. i don't why people who wrote reviews about club room is bad. it doesn't make sense. hotel location is very nearly from high streets such us shops, bars, restaurants. hotel is the best one than others in kusadasi or marmaris. animation team could make holiday funny. travel rep could help me for good trips or exercusions at good price. thanks all from magnific team... i will book it again for next summer-time in turkey.

I stayed in this hotel during one week with my boyfriend in August 2012.
As the hotel changed their concept to all inclusive this year, you can see everywhere that, there is a kind of unprofessional way of hotel management in this hotel.
First of all, the staff working in restaurant or pool side kept changing during our stay as some of the workers didnt want to work there anymore. In any case, some people working in restaurant side is highly unfriendly except the chefs. And the food doesnt taste good at all! I was never full of eating in any night of my stay in dinner times. On the other hand, alcohol which is a good part of all inclusice was terrible! There are the worst brands of alcohol you can drink (I never heard of a brand of Turkish rakı there was given. And when I asked what is this brand, I was answered unpolitely.) So I never drank any alcohol during my stay there.
Another problem is that, the hotel is highly crowdy and there is not enough place for people near the pool nor for swimming nor for eating. So for example some people needs to eat indoor in a hot weather without air condition.
Only good thing is it is fairly close to night bars (Bodrum center) and the rooms are good with good air condition. (But even though since it is very close to some bars in the neighborhood, sometimes it gets difficult to sleep during the night)
In short, I would recommend the place if only you can not find a better one with the same price.

We just came from Bodrum Turkey. We stayed from 13 August until 22nd August, 2012 in Magnific Hotel. The Hotel is simply AMAZING! the service is astounding, all the staff are helpful, smiling and willing to help if you have any complaint/comment. We got the all inclusive package, which is very good deal btw, since you get access to three meals (buffet with a wide variety), as well as snacks around the clock and an open bar! The pool is extremely clean, rooms are cozy and comfy, and above all, the shows at 9 00 pm every night are fun to watch. You can just spend your day relaxing at the hotel with no need for extra activities, Magnific is that good..We highly recommend it. Wonderful wonderful experience.

I went to Hotel Magnific in the first week of August with my family and we were very pleased with the hotel. The rooms were very clean(they were cleaned everyday neatly), the staff at the reception was very friendly and they helped us with everything and the hotel crew was really nice in general. The best thing about the hotel was that it was directly at the sea and everything that we needed was in a very short distance.
Another thing we liked was the food. All of the food served was really nice in general ; there was no queue and everything was fresh and clean.
There was also a lot to do at night. The nightclubs and bars were only 5-10 minutes away by walking distance so the nights were not boring at all. The location is also really close to the center of Bodrum (10 minutes by taxi).
Some stuff we didn't like was the problem with the internet. The internet was only available at the reception so one cannot even login from the room or at the pool bar which is quite unpractical. Another problem was the little amount of sunbeds ; we had to 'reserve' the sunbeds earlier in the morning so there was no place by the beach from the morning. We experienced the similar problem at meals as well ; there were not so many tables and chairs outside so sometimes we had to eat inside and it wasn't really comfortable. The waiters were also quite slow with the service but it wasn't a big problem.
Another little problem was the broken lock in our hotel door. We experienced difficulties while opening our door with the card because of the lock. Hopefully it will be fixed in the future.
I also advise the DJ to play a more variety of music ; preferably more foreign music rather than traditional Turkish music. Sometimes, the DJ played the same songs over and over again so the setlist needs to be taken care of more often.
All in all, we had a great time in the hotel. We got everything that we needed from a holiday ; an awesome clean and blue sea, great service, great food and great nightlife. We didn't need more and hopefully we will be there next year!

Last year I stayed at this hotel in Gumbet twice when they had halfboard concept. Everything was great, the service, food etc. However this year, they changed concept to All inclusive which is the worst thing they could ever have done.

I booked this hotel again since I really liked it last year, this year it was a big disappointment.
The food was really bad, tasted nothing and they reused same dinner food for lunch. Breakfast was poor after 10. There were a lot of flies all over the restaurant since they don't clean the restaurant. It looked really bad. A lot of noice in the background, no Aircon in restaurant, heat is really bad. Better to sit outside.

There is no service in the restaurant, you have to get your own drinks, and stand in one line outside at the pool bar with one guy working really slow. The glasses were always out, you got beer in a plastic mug. You do not get water in a bottle, instead you have to fill a small glass. I bought bottles and filled them up.

Service is really bad. Our check in took forever. They were 1 hour late with cleaning, so we could check in at 15 PM. Instead of 14 PM. Checkin time not a guarantuee.
We had to come back several times since the room was not ready. Staff in reception was really annoying and unproffesional. They argued with several people in the queue. Not organized at all.

If you book this hotel make sure you book a superior room. Better than the other small standard rooms. Aircon in the room is really strange, does not work during the day but during the night it gets really cold, they said you have to be careful when you configure it. Strange thing. Make sure to get sleeping earplugs, the bar street noice is terrible. Towels in the room are dirty and smells. They did not change sheets for one week.

Please also watch out for people working in Magnifico, they reserve hotel sunbeds for people outside for money so it is really hard to find sunbeds.
All in all this was a really big disappointment.

I would recommend you to go to Wow bodrum resort which is a much better all inclusive hotell in gumbet.
