We have just returned from the Isis in bodrum/Gumbet in Turkey.. and let me tell you is got so bad on day 6 we checked out and moved to an apartment!

The staff every night have what I would call a "Staff Party", this is outside and every single room comes into play in terms of the hideous music ( HARDCORE TRANCE MUSIC) with the loudest beat I have ever heard, we moved rooms three times in the end, this was only after shouting at the top of our voices in reception, they just look at you and do NOTHING. Finally the "Night Manager" appeared ( HE WAS IN THE DISCO WITH THE REST OF THE STAFF ) and found us another room, a suite in fact labelled "LaLa" at the other side of the hotel, the music seemed fine whilst he was in the room, he then leaves and the music lifts. ( The double glazing could be visibly seen vibating ), he then returns, the music subsides and this goes on and on. MENTAL TORTURE, I have never complained like this in my life, usually you accept that there might be a little music but let me tell you this was totally RIDICULOUS, like staying in the middle of San Antonio in Ibiza.

You complain and a chain of events is started by the Night Manager, af first counter staff deny there is a manager, but eventually they have to admit that there is one, he is then summoned from the staff party and phones the so called "Animation Team, who are in charge of the noisy beat, ( A bunch of teenage staff hell bent of raising the roof of the so called SPA holiday), they are asked by the night manager to lower the sound whilst they visit your room, once this is over the music is back up and the "Night Manager" is back in the disco bopping to the beat, drinking and smoking god knows what ( They often appear bleary eyed in your room), its all part of a STAFF PARTY that runs every night outside.

So how do they justify the noise, "I am afraid there are hotel Guests enjoying the Party"...so I said " You have 30 people in the disco, most of them staff, how many staying in the hotel?".....Night manager " Oh about a thousand"..."so what about the the other 970 people staying in the hotel?, should they be made to suffer in this way?" I pointed out there lovely spa brochure which has relaxation at its core, he just shrugged..

Please, please do not book this hotel unless you are into hardcore music, it plays every night starts at 11pm and never finishes before 2am....the owners of the hotel must be MAD, a small core of the animation team are dictating this every night and they do not care about the people who have paid to stay in the hotel, we witnessed complaint after complaint and felt very sorry for the older people walking round the hotel totally bemused and often scared to complain in a muslim country.

The food was the same every night, BLAND, and if you want Ala Carte, then you must queue, I tried this and three times my room card, it would not work so I was told to go to back to reception and they would sort it after queueing, they did not, On day 6 we left and had a peaceful night in the lovely satsuma apartments a few miles up the coast.

We lived in mental torture for 6 days, it totally decimated our holiday which is such a shame, the ISIS have a perfect setting and the Spa team were excellent, attentive and the treatments were first class, but after having treatments you just want to relax and when you get to bed and have to suffer loud music the ambience is lost.

It's the worst holiday of our life and proved to me that loud music can destroy your holiday. MENTAL TORUTURE of the highest calibre.

If your looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday.....DONT GO TO THE ISIS.

Have just returned from a week at the Isis. 5 star, I don't think so. The reception staff would ask to help you, then go off and speak to someone else, other staff, or just stand around, you never knew if they were actually dealing with you or not!! Very frustrating. We had booked a Club Deluxe room, but on arrival were taken eventually to what can only be described as a cell - no windows, just enough room to walk round the bed and a small bathroom. After looking at a further 3 rooms which were nearly as bad, we eventually were taken to the room we had booked. The room was large with a sofa and bed, and nicely furnished, with a balcony and lovely view over the bay. The floor was dirty from the previous guests, there was plenty of sugar but no tea or coffee, the minibar was empty until the day before we returned home, despite us asking at reception for all these things to be resolve. We asked for extra pillows and got none. The floor was never cleaned during our stay!! Food in the main restaurant was not particularly good, and very repetitive and only lukewarm. Breakfast in particular was poor. The restaurant was organised chaos and in need of update. The al a carte restaurants on the other hand, provided good food and a much better setting. The only problem with these was the rigmarole you had to go to book into them!! If you are 17-25 yrs and female you will have no trouble getting served at the bars, the staff were rude to others, and unhelpful at times. The gardens, pool area and beach were well kept, and good, and the spa was also relaxing and pleasant, although I feel we were overcharged for our treatment, after seeing other reviews. We have visited Turkey before in the Antalya area, and had a really good experience of hotel, staff and food, we were very disappointed this time though.

When we arrived at the hotel we were impressed with the reception area and lobby bar, much less impressed with some of the receptionist staff. It was not unusual for them to try and deal with 3 guests at once really annoying and in my opinion rude. Or talk to you and then to a colleague and then back to you and so on, so if you expect one on one attention you may be dissappointed. The first room we were given smelt mouldy and had water on the floor, when I asked to be moved the receptionist said the hotel was full so could not offer any other rooms. I told her if that was the case then I would be moving to another hotel. She asked me to give her 5 mins to talk to her manager. Miraculously some rooms became available so we were moved. The next room we were given had air conditioning that didn't work so we were moved again the third room was fine. We met a couple there who had two small children who also had problems with their room, water from the Air Con making their floor wet, very easy for the children to slip, their room was not changed, they had to put towels on the floor each day.The staff in the restaurants, bars and the animation team (entertainment) were great. The A La Carte restaurants (not really A La Carte by the way) get booked up really quickly and to book them you have to first go to Cutomer Relations and then to reception who issue you a ticket, you cannot phone to book and you have to book on the day no advance bookings. The Customer Relation person does not get their until 9.00am and by 9.30am all the restaurants are normally full.
The food in the main restaurant (buffet style) was OK you could always find something to eat, nice salads, soups, in the evening there would be something from the grill as well. The main streets in Bodrum are about 25 min walk away or you could get on a bus for 2.2 lire or taxi of course. I wanted to watch the England v Khazikstan match which was not being shown in the hotel so had to go into town it was on at the Outback Bar, the hotel called them and they came and picked us up for free. I think I should give special mention to two people YASIN on the front desk who was the rudest man I came across in the whole of my time in Bodrum and JULIA the Russian Customer Relationship person who blew hot and cold during our stay, more cold than hot. If you book via Travel Republic they say imported drinks are included when you get to the hotel you will find out they are not.

I would like to say that having just come back from this resort yesterday - we had a fantastic holiday after having some unnessary concerns after reading several reviews on various websites. We stayed for 1 week & went with 1 child (3yrs old) & 2 other adults.

Firstly the hotel is very clean, modern, well equiped and the rooms are very nice - we stayed in one of the so-called notorous garden rooms which offered everything we would expect, and it was serviced every 2 days which we thought was reasonable. The balcony didn't overlook the sea but brochure stated that when we booked our room - the reason I mention this is that I have read & heard so many people moaning about not having sea views but you know when you book if you will have one!

The hotel had a wide selection of bars to get drinks from, and the food in the hotel was very good. The buffet restaurant offered a wide variety of foods thoughout our stay & had freshly cooked foods from 2 service stations. In addition to the main restaurant were 4 different a-la-carte restaurants which were excellent, offering different cuisines and located with fantastic views of the sea. Considering you can book each restaurant once, you had a superb choice each day!

To book the a-la-carte restaurant, you need to be a reception early - they start to take bookings by 8-30am & they are normally full by 10am - so bear this in mind before going.

The pool area is very family friendly, and seperate to the pool are various other lounge areas, as well as the private beach which has various watersport activities available. The animation team is OK but nothing special & the nightly entertainment is slightly cheesey but good for young children. The spa centre is fantastic, but make sure you haggle on the price, as they will come down considerably on their quoted price. We had a Turkish bath & full body massage (2 hours treatment) for £30 from the original price of
£60.

The location of the hotel in relation to Gumbet centre is approximately 2km away which you can walk, but be wary that it is uphill on the way back & may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. There is a local bus service called the dolmus, which is cheap (2TL), regular (every 5mins) & easy to use, and will get you to Gumbet within 5minutes. Gumbet is a lively resort with many shops, restaurant & bars and the entertainment runs practically 24hours.

The only thing i would say is that the hotel staff do not speak very good english & if you have a problem you will have to rely on the Rep to sort it out. The hotel is not a 5 Star as described in the brochures, but it of a very good standard & in our opinion realistically a 4 Star but I believe this is common in Turkey.

As long as you don't expect the 5 star standard you have in this country, you will have a great time & believe this hotel does offer value for money.

After visiting this hotel 5 times, we arrived at approx 3am very excited, as we were bringing our 12 year old daughter for the first time and had told her how wonderful it would be.
We checked into Hotel and noticed alot of new staff who were not as welcoming as on previous visits, we were shown to our room which had been booked as a large Hotel, sea view room with a double and single bed, (club rooms are not all up to good standard, so be careful if booking these) our room was very small and had only one bed, I went back to reception and was told we would have to wait till the manager arrived in the morning to decide if we could change rooms, I said its not if it is when, as I had paid for the large room, after basically sitting up all night we went to reception at 9am and was told he was not here yet, so sat another half hr waiting for him. When he arrived we weren't impressed, he made no attempt to approach us, instead he carried on behind the desk and waited until we approached him, we both remarked what a difference from the previous manager. Anyway he changed our room, the room was large and with a beautiful sea view, however we couldn't believe how dirty the carpet was, covered in blood and other goodness knows what stains and i mean covered, we put the air con on and a damp awful smell came out of it. I decided not to complain again as I didn't want to spoil our holiday by constantly complaining.
The food in the main restaurant had not improved, but to be honest it has never been good or the reason we have returned, it is plentiful and at first looks impressive but is repetitive, luke warm and tasteless, except pasta which is cooked fresh and delicious. The main dining room also is in need of upgrading and a good clean.
Next issue was when we approached the manager about keeping our room for a few extra hrs due to late flight, we were told to keep it till 8pm would cost £90, i said no, because when we arrived we had the room issue and i was not paid for that, we were returning guests and felt they should be happy to let us have few extra hours in room if required, anyway after complaining twice about this they agreed we could keep it till 5pm, so i gave in.
The final straw was on checking out we were told we owed an extra £25.00 for 2 towels, I didnt understand, they said we had used 2 towels that could not be cleaned, i said why, again the same manager said he could show me if i wishede, so i said yes, he came back with 2 towels that had a few spots of makeupon them, i said it was makeup and to just wash them, he said they would have to be washed on special wash to get them clean, my partner said it must be special for £25.00, i couldn't believe it, i said i got makeup on towels all the time and it just washes out, and that i refused to pay anything, by now he was getting ruder and insisting i pay or would have to pay for room aswell, i was disgusted and told him i wanted to speak to hotel owner, they said ok you find him and speak to him but you have to pay first, we ended up paying because people were looking at us and my daughter was getting upset. We then searched round for the owner, eventually he came past, so my partner told him, he said to wait a min, he went to speak to manager and then returned, said he was sorry and that they were just following orders as they were getting alot of toewls with makeup on, i said that was ridiculous, they just need washing, and on a hot wash, he said sorry and we would get our money back.
It is a shame but i must say we wont be returning to this Hotel again, and like we told the owner, it is not the money it is the principle, they think they can treat people like that and get away with it, it is a shame because some of the staff are really lovely, animation team are fab and work tirelessly to keep you happy, some of the russian animation girls are not as friendly but maybe they are shy, the boys are great though and are just wonderful with the kids.
I think this Hotel is very impressive when you arrive and see it but unfortunately alot of things let it down.
Also they get alot of Russian clients and seem to be more interested in keeping them happy than anyone else, perhaps its because these people wouldn't let them get away with it but we are too polite and don't complain enough.
