“disappointed”

Ayhan Hotel

I must start in saying i do very much agree with some of the opinions of the previous writer who described it as the hotel from hell. I am just back from a two week stay at the Ayhan hotel and was quite disappointed by it.
We also found that the staff were very unfriendly. They spoke very little English though myself and my partner heard the staff speak good english at times so we think they chooes when and when not to understand us.
Our first problem arised the very first day. As Turkey is very warm it is essential to have the air conditioning. I went up to reception to enquire about the price and was given a ridiculous price. I told my partener that i was not going to pay that and later that night he went up again to find out the price as he said i mite have mis heard them. When he went up he asked the same member of staff the same question and they could not remember the price that they had given me! It just showed that he made the price up there and then. He then started acting confused and took out a calculator and pages and then gave my partner a different but also a ridicoulsy dear price. The next day we had a meeting with our rep and explained our problem to him. He came to the hotel with us to sort out the price and the staff accused us of lying saying that they did not give us that price. They then lowered the price.
To top this all off the air conditioning kept breaking and did not keep the room that cold. Also when u leave the room you can not leave the air conditioning on. This all happened on the first day, so put a dampener on the holiday.
I also must agree with the previous writer on their comments about the pool. Was disappointing.
Besides that we enjoyed our holiday. The Turks are very friendly and funny and there is lots to do in the resort.
We are already looking to book a 2 week stay next year but would not return to the Ayhan hotel.

Mehmet and his family were really friendly and helpful. The hotel was just the right size for couples, and the rooms were cleaned and sheets changed every day. The Staff (family) worked their socks off for the 2 weeks we were there, and i can't praise them highly enough. Mehmet Ayhan the owner, was a great character, and gave us all a good laugh during our stay. Everyone who stayed at the hotel had a great time, and we made some good friends. You don't go to Turkey and scoff English breakfasts (at least we don't) you try their own cuisine, and at breakfast, THEY have fruit, Honey, jam fresh bread, and tomatoes/cucumber as well as serving it up for the guests. That's what they do, they are only giving you what they have so i respect that. You don't get 5 star food at a 2 star hotel, i don't know what on earth some people expect for that sort of money. So, to the previous writer who said it was the hotel from hell, please don't come back, and leave people that have read the hotel description properly, to get on with their holiday.

“Hotel from hell!”

Ayhan Hotel

This was the hotel from hell! The staff were terrible and there was no entertainment, except one bbq which was suppose to be weekly, but was had once during our two week stay.
The rooms were very small and the bathroom even smaller. Everything was very very basic, quite old.
The pool was small, and was shaded from 2PM onwards. There was only a handful of sunloungers, and the pool was crowded with the children that lived at the hotel. I've never stayed in such a horrible place, with such unfriendly and unwelcoming staff.
We stayed bed and breakfast, and just a warning the only breakfast you can get is the turkish breakfast you have to pay for the others eg english breakfast or toast. We were given a basket of bread between five, and a little triangle of cheese with cucumbers and a tomatoe! Unbelivable!
I would recommend no one to come here, i wish i had known this before i had booked.
Apart from this we absolutely loved the resort and have booked to stay at the jasmine beach apartments next summer july 2007 which are higly recommended and have had a lot of praise.
I hope this review is helpful, as i wouldnt want anyone else to have their holiday ruined by such a horrible hotel.

We stayed in the Ayhan Hotel for 2weeks from the middle of setember till first week in october, it was the best holiday we have had, the family who owned the hotel were great, and made our stay a great one, all hotel workers worked very hard and were really good fun, if you get a chance to try one of the chefs (ali) pizzas, they are highly recommended. employees of the hotel will do anything to help, nothing is too much trouble.
