“Hotel from hell!”

Ayhan Hotel

This was the hotel from hell! The staff were terrible and there was no entertainment, except one bbq which was suppose to be weekly, but was had once during our two week stay.
The rooms were very small and the bathroom even smaller. Everything was very very basic, quite old.
The pool was small, and was shaded from 2PM onwards. There was only a handful of sunloungers, and the pool was crowded with the children that lived at the hotel. I've never stayed in such a horrible place, with such unfriendly and unwelcoming staff.
We stayed bed and breakfast, and just a warning the only breakfast you can get is the turkish breakfast you have to pay for the others eg english breakfast or toast. We were given a basket of bread between five, and a little triangle of cheese with cucumbers and a tomatoe! Unbelivable!
I would recommend no one to come here, i wish i had known this before i had booked.
Apart from this we absolutely loved the resort and have booked to stay at the jasmine beach apartments next summer july 2007 which are higly recommended and have had a lot of praise.
I hope this review is helpful, as i wouldnt want anyone else to have their holiday ruined by such a horrible hotel.

We stayed in the Ayhan Hotel for 2weeks from the middle of setember till first week in october, it was the best holiday we have had, the family who owned the hotel were great, and made our stay a great one, all hotel workers worked very hard and were really good fun, if you get a chance to try one of the chefs (ali) pizzas, they are highly recommended. employees of the hotel will do anything to help, nothing is too much trouble.

We stayed at the Ayhan Hotel for two weeks from august 30th 2004 and it was a brilliant holiday. The family that run it are superb and alot of fun, its clean and in a great location for the shops and bars and the bar stays open all night. The food is excellent well worth a try, speacially the barbicues which are alot of fun. one night we all got together in the hotel and had this huge water fight it was fab.
Gumbet is also a nice place it has plenty of bars and shops we recomend the disco boat that goes from bodrum which is just 2minuates up the road it was the best night we had, its got a glass bottom dance floor but bewarned drinks are expensive so get tanked up before you go. Gumbet beach is ok but Bitez which is about 10 mins away if you walked is a much better one. We went scooberdiving which was a well worth experiance and the markets are really cheap but cheak what youve got and haggle for what you want. There are lots of watersports and trips the only downfall was that you do get hasseled quite a bit but if you just say no and walk away then they wont bother you again. turkish people are the best ive ever met so friendly you could chat for hours a good laugh. try aloah bar and resturant both good and cafe de columbian as there 20 oz porter house steak for only 8 pound plus free bottle of wine is good value and the best steak we had. windybay great burgars and breakfast. Avoid mistery resturant. overall we had a great time and would go back again to gumbet and ayhan.

I have just come back from one of the best weeks away i have ever had. I booked a last minute holiday to the Ayhan hotel and was expecting anything but i have to say the hotel was great, its basic but clean and has a really good atmosphere. Its really central to the bars and the beach and the family who run the hotel are always on hand to offer advice or information. I would say the hotel was perefect for couples or small groups but maybe not for younger families. All in all Gumbet and the Ayhan Hotel were one of the best holidays i have ever had and i would recommend the holiday to anyone. Book it now!!!
